Who's Using Fresh Store Builder?

That's possibly a more complex question than you realise depending on how much you've involved yourself with SEO! There's a whole section on this forum on SEO so if you're not doing anything then this will be your long term plan. Short term you could look into AdWords but because of the low commision you'll be receiving from Amazon this could be a very fine art making money from PPC. In my opinion you'll need to get working with your onsite and offsite optimisation ASAP.

What's your site?

Ahh - I knew SEO was important, but I think I just underestimate HOW important! I'm aware of some of the factors; it's just putting them into practice that I suffer with :)

I'm wondering if half of the issue is the relatively small size of the niche - the site is http://www.46inchtv.org.uk and although it gets around 1,000 exact local searches in google each month for "46 Inch TV", it probably isn't the biggest niche....

Anyone getting some products with a value of £0.00 amongst products with normal prices?

I think these are out of stock products, possibly? :)

I thought that as well. I guess there's no way of knowing but it's most probably that.

It's a bit frustrating how long it's taking to get access to the FSB forum. I also would like to know how to delete duplicate products. You wouldn't have thought it would be possible to get duplicates but i'm getting them!!

From what i've seen so far i'd say it's a good system but my store isn't live yet so I haven't got any stats to back that up!

I do think it's a good system, albeit it still has some bugs and gremlins in it.

I've got a couple of sites up and running and a few more in development. I too find that I have way more 'checkouts' and 'Amazon Clicks Today' than actual successful transactions in my Amazon Associates account.

Just a couple of thoughts:
The Amazon Affiliates Program is great for 2 reasons:
  1. Amazon 'converts' better than pretty much every other program - because it is such a trusted brand and excellent user experience
  2. The additional basket purchases are often worth more than the item you've 'sold' - especially around Christmas time.

However the FSB negates these two by a) Having what appears to the user to be its own basket/checkout and b) by taking them straight to the Amazon checkout before they have an easy opportunity to add some different stuff to their basket.

I run a couple of other non-FSB affiliate sites, and I just need to send people to an Amazon product page and my job is done. I wonder if removing the checkout/basket altogether from a FSB site (one that people would only buy 1 item from - e.g. a bag, ladder, TV etc) and just having a 'View on Amazon' button would convert better and earn more? That way it would be more like a regular Affiliate site except it would still update price, availability etc automatically.

What do you think? Is there an obvious reason why that's a bad idea? It's a relatively easy customisation of the template so I might give it a go on one of the sites I'm developing.

You can do this already, its in one of the settings to just send them to amazon

Yes, I've confirmed that prob my end too.

Quick thoughts:

Have you got a CHMOD of 777 on the sitemap.xml?

Also, do you have the .htaccess file in the directory root?

PS: Check your other CHMOD directory settings.

Did you have a different website setup on this domain recently? Some of the links that come up from that query are not FSB links, e.g.

http://www.phonecases.org.uk/mobile...-tpu-case---translucent-black/134922911/1418/

Check that your sitemap.xml file has updated with FSB and if so, it should be a case of just waiting for Google to fully reindex your new site

Have you got Google webmastertools setup? The quickest way to get your web site properly listed in google is submitting the sitemap in webmastertools.

Has anybody actually got any FSB sites which are ranking for any decent terms? I've made a selection of sites (mostly on new domains which were on the front page based on one page of content that was on the domain), made a few sales then the sites have tanked.

I also had a few sites which had been quite happily sitting on the front page for the last year or so based on HTML or wordpress sites, however after switching to FSB the sites dropped no end (1 went from 1st to not ranking). Switched the sites back and two which have been respidered have gone back to exactly where they were, the other hasnt been respidered yet and still isnt ranking.

I've had a look at some of the sites people have listed in here and also the ones for sale and none seem to rank - even for their own EMD (I wont give examples incase the owner doesnt want their site mentioning).

Around half of my sites had the rubbish descriptions that FSB outputs, the other half have unique descriptions for every product and several pages of unique content - all dropped.

I'm not sure its just FSB I think google has actually killed all feed driven affiliate sites now when you look through the rankings.
Its a shame FSB was probably the best script of its type in this area just hope they keep their promise when it comes to a refund.
I'm going to spend a little time testing a custom script I'm writing to merge PT with wordpress in a less obvious way for a few niche stores and see if that has any effect I doubt it though google wants all this pie to themselves as well with their google shopping

I have several price tapestry sites which are all ranking fine.

Your lucky that your still within the 30 days for the refund. Just asked for one (had it about 6 weeks) and cant get one :(.

Im having a long hard think about this today.
My first FSB site went from a position 1 wordpress site to position 44 and dropping daily.
I either hold my nerve and wait or call it a day, and ask for my refund.

Its starting to look like google has added the FSB footprint to the algorithm ??
Somebody prove me wrong?

I'm on page 1 of google with a poor content site. But I have the exact keyword domain and competition is weak so not sure what that tells you. Doubt i'll get bumped if competition is weak.
