September .uk drop discussion

Putting aside the fact we all have a greater understanding of how domains work, it seems to me on the face of it that the registrar have sold (in the broader sense) domains to him that they should, or shouldn't have; rather than taking. I recall registrars being granted ownership control over domains in the expiry period that led to many complaints that registrars wouldn't let domains drop; I'm not sure if that applies here though. I think we need to let Nominet make that determination on Monday; expect to see domains in suspension, or not, based on that.

@cyberpunk - What happens when something like this is discovered is the people who find it milk the arse of it... Then when they are done with it they tell their close associates who then further milk it and leak it to the public... they leak it to cover there own tracks and then it looks like everyone is doing it and those that have already booked all the domains prior to letting anyone know about it try to slide out unnoticed.

Make no mistake, this was not made public by mistake.. it was made public once they had booked all the names they wanted and to get others on board making it harder to pinpoint 1 person who is responsible for the whole thing

I doubted it at the time, couldn't see how you got to this outcome. Now however, you are now looking like a genius, I tip my cap to you Mr Hay.

I'm just looking through names to make my own list for today but so many have already been stolen. I do genuinely find this disgusting

These transfers better be reserved and the offending parties banned as registrars.

I think they booked too many and because of the lag they can't stop them from being renewed. If they took one or tow they could have kept it nice and quiet, they got greedy

You stole names, good names, you didn't register one random name to prove it was a flaw

Apparently you thought the best that could happen is you keep them and at worst you get a refund

I hope I'm not being optimistic in thinking the worst will be a lot worse

(that reminds me check out my auction loophole.uk, could be put to use by a number of you;)).

This is so funny I'm compelled to repost it. Cracking domain name too.
