A fair bit of dead cash and hype on these.

Never a good combo, and worse when domains....!

am surprised myself that every single possible co.uk & org.uk combo has an application... doubt some of these will ever fetch more then low xx

will run the process again after the deadline to get a full summary.

if folks are interested, can break it down and tabulate further i.e. how many unique applicants, etc

I just applied for 5 TBH, 2/3 of these are for personal use/vanity - not too bothered if I get them or not, would be nice though. :)

Can't see the attraction/value of some of the combos, would rather have a nice generic name instead. :)

PS: Thanks dta, very interesting. :D

PPS: Do the remaining free to reg names (e.g. LL.me.uk) just come up in the normal reg process then? If so, when does that happen? :)

EDIT: Just seen it, lol, 27th June.

A few people jumped on some of the domains I was the only applicant on in the last two minutes. :p

It aint over yet, there will be more appearing up to the 22nd payment deadline.

Totally agree Grant. Every .co.uk, .org.uk and .me.uk HAS had an application submitted, it's just whether they pay Nominet's fees or not...

The ones that show on the lists ARE the ones who've paid the £12 application fee for the domain. There's lots that have been applied for that haven't been paid for yet that aren't shown. The real picture won't be until last orders on 22nd.

Yes, I know, my point was that EVERY domain DOES have an application submitted but not paid for yet and therefore the picture isn't clear.

I'd imagine some people have put in an application on everything, and then will go through them, waiting until the very last minute and actually pay for the ones that they think they might have a chance of getting cheaply at auction.

wasn't aware of that - thanks, will wait till after then to re-run the data.

out of interest - any forum members in the upcoming 2 letter auctions? or shall we assume most of the names are going to the large companies with deeper pockets??

Lol

Acorn members are in for all of them.

Well done to nameless who won lots of un contested domains. Good gamble and great decision to go for them.

Eh? It's not over yet Caz, we might see a flurry at the last minute ;)

Or perhaps not...

still collating the data, but doesn't look like that many (co.uk & org.uk) now have just 1 application. Some individuals have gone in for many names.... still 24hrs to go so will be interesting to see the numbers once the dust settles...
