Hire.co.uk
Satellite.co.uk
Stolen.co.uk
WeddingPresents.co.uk

Hire.co.uk £20,000 +
Satellite.co.uk £20,000
Stolen.co.uk £7,000
WeddingPresents.co.uk £6,000

I would price them around that to an end user, I would also look to add £1500 per year to there value each.

EDIT: just seen marks post - i guess I am way of the mark :)

Well was worth a try lol

And from a business point of view I would being me have to disagree with DB but hell whats new?

Wedding you know I love so to me thats worth more than sat and stolen

Personally I think with the right marketing and online presence then that can earn more than 6 grand, can earn more than 20 grand.

Hire is usually a lower commission so to me that would be a lower but if you can do the subdomains so that it might hit hire dvds then it would be reasonably nice.

Earnings on this would be low and slow possibly

Stolen would be more of a pet project and a risky one but a possible one

Sat this might be a gem if you can get sky subscriptions

Domain resale value Hire and Wedding Presents I think personally would be your highest ones.

I will admit for domains I'm probaly usless compared to most of the people in here, for business ideas these guys kiss my arse.

Thanks Sean for sticking your neck out :)

I nearly didn't include WeddingPresents it in this post cos I didn't see it in the same league as the others but I'm starting to like it more and more.

I also bought blaze.co.uk in the last month or so but that has less commercial value I think, but I like it

My valuations would be:

Hire.co.uk £30,000+
This domain has absolutely massive potential. Mainly I see car hire, but then there are so many other hire markets, e.g. power tools, powered access platforms etc etc.

Satellite.co.uk - Agreed, £20,000. Obviously a Sky Affiliate site.

Stolen.co.uk £2,500 - Not so excited about this one, I can't see good selling opportunities if you have an association with stolen goods.

WeddingPresents.co.uk £15,000++ - I wouldn't let it go for less. John Lewis has the wedding presents market cornered, you could probably sell it them for a LOT more, if not, they have an affiliate programme :)

Paul, I have to say well done, these are great domains to have picked up. The key task that we all have is how to imprint on the minds of the UK consumer the fact that these domains exist. Traditionally brands have spent big bucks on TV getting themselves established. You have to think of ways to get the hire.co.uk brand out there in a cost effective manner. You need to start campaigns like:

"Whatever you need to hire, visit hire.co.uk"

Once you are in peoples thoughts, you will do very well!!! Well done!!!

All the best

Hes right - I mean we are talking about prime names here one-off's.

I valued the names at this time (Jun 07) by (Jun 17) they will triple of not quadruple in value (hope i spelt that right :) )

I some times tell buyers its like buying the famous mona lisa - there is just one, and how can you put a price on that :) that usualy closes the deal for me ;)

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for that Accelerator

Stolen.co.uk £2,500 - Not so excited about this one, I can't see good selling opportunities if you have an association with stolen goods.

Yeah but I see this as a service type domain that would have user generated content, these type of sites generally get massive traffic, which would be great for adsense, you could also offer HPI checks, Insurance, Security devices, even loans to go and buy a new replacement item LOL

Thanks Sean for sticking your neck out :)

Not a problem - Its always better getting a few opinions - and they are also nice names to try and value :)

It would be silly to sell stolen.co.uk to an END USER for £2,500 I think you would be looking atleast that if not more I would of hoped ....

Hire - could be used as a job recruitment agency going out of the box of marketing.

So that might be 50,000 +

If the right company was involved.

Stolen - Is stil dodgy either way theres potential for companies that have property stolen to list serial numbers etc etc on site, but then would people report stolen property anyway from a business.

Would be nice if you could use this for the top end of the stolen market which would be sports cars, art works etc etc.

That would really make money from a one off fee or even a finders fee if someone contacted and left details via your website.

It's 50/50 on this as a business model.

newbie question here, so it may not be appropriate :)

but where have you picked these up from - was it on sale at sedo or some other simialr site or have you contacted the owners directly?

Hi Mark :) just read the first line of your post and have to constructivly disagree.

Q: Wouldnt a "job recruitment agency" be better of with somethings like jobs.co.uk jobrecruitment.co.uk recruitmentagency.co.uk?

I will admit for domains I'm probaly usless compared to most of the people in here, for business ideas these guys kiss my arse.

You might want to revise that last part - the first part is correct :)

OK, maybe my valuation was a little on the low side, the domain does have some potential, but you will see the scale of the difference in potential between hire.co.uk (which has excellent potential) and stolen.co.uk (which I'm less bullish on, but still some value) from the Overture top 10s:

car hire 39,170.1 /day
cheap car hire 26,516.4 /day
van hire 6,924.4 /day
coach hire 6,666.7 /day
car hire in the uk 4,070.8 /day
limousine hire 3,976.7 /day
car hire in spain 3,556.6 /day
car hire uk 2,182.0 /day
car hire in usa 1,369.0 /day
car hire usa 1,209.3 /day

stolen 22.2 /day
stolen child 10.9 /day
stolen innocence 8.8 /day
stolen car 7.2 /day
stolen phone 7.1 /day
stolen recovered 5.4 /day
bigger boy stolen sweetheart 4.9 /day
stolen video 4.8 /day
movie stolen 4.1 /day
stolen recovered car for sale 3.6 /day

All direct from the previous owners, I hate using Sedo to buy domains

People hire personal

So hire is a nice short name, yes jobrecruitment does what it says on the tin, but hire is still the same as recruitment etc.

It could be brought by jobsrecruitment to corner their market.

Why should someone just hire a dvd or a carpet cleaner or a car.

Few possible ideas for it.

crazy just gone of domain researching and the first name i checked was industrialcleaning.co.uk blimey you get around paul :)

Lovely name once again - even thou we are not apprasing :)

PRSS time ....;)
