Thanks Ashton, I will look into that. I hope I didn't cause offence just wanted to make sure I was not being taken advantage of, which i am sure I am not now your posts are sincere. Better get back to work but with tah in mind my employer is looking for a website developer/manager near Aylesbury. Can anyone recommend one?

Excellent, thanks for that our site really needs sorting out! http://www.nsrm.co.uk I will be having the final say on who we choose if anyone else if willing to offer their services. Being close to Aylesbury, Bucks would be ideal.

Interesting thread, I also made the mistake of regging a tm domain when I first started out- have read lots of horror stories and deleted them quick!
On the theory of relativity one, it always helps to have a general interest in the domain in question, educational sources can actually be quite a little goldmine (read up on the nineplanets_org site at self made minds) some unique content on a simple html site gets attention from browsing students who don't tend to have adword blindness:) Try getting some .ac backlinks as well. All the best!

Thanks viceroy. I think the same about the education sector I am just about to register two great ones. Exactly what I would have searched for in the past. Which registrar is best for .co.uk domain names?

domainmonster are good, 123reg are ok, a lot of people recommend daily.co.uk

Avoid 1&1 and American registrars and you should be fine.

I use heartinternet for all my uk domains except the ones domainmonster have caught.

No probs. I use UK-Cheapest, they've always been reliable and it's great to get instant support, a bit slow at times when doing advanced changes though but a great budget registrar all the same...

Thanks everyone for the registrar advice. Sticking to the education theme I have just registered...

dissertationproposal.co.uk
dissertationtopics.co.uk

Thousands of exact local searches, I am not surprised as I remember searching frantically for ideas when I was a student. So I have a very small education portfolio of the above and theoryofrelativity.co.uk so going to offer for sale/look at improving visibilty.

Nice find:)

dissertationtopics.co.uk is owned by Edwin on here.

Thanks Whibs, are you sure about Edwin owning dissertationtopics.co.uk or was it a typo as I just registered that name?

Nice find:)

dissertationtopics.co.uk is owned by Edwin on here.

No, we don't own it.

It might have been something I posted on an "Available domains" list a while back - I can't remember.

Sorry pasted the wrong domain:

writing a dissertation
writing dissertations

:)
