Not for me to list them but as I've mentioned casinos already that's a gem, also already posted grr webhosting must be a gem too as its Couk sold for loads.

hahah ....no mine are great names there is no problems there :D

Besides I posted what I had earlier in this thread?

ohhh you are a naughty boy invincible :p

Yes 14 of them bang on the money

I think given any situation, some people ( midas )can make a winning investment.

But I'm confused as to how much value there is in a .wales domain.
There are two options, cymru & wales yet wales has a population of only 3 million and is very much part of the United Kingdom.
Some registrations like xxxxxxxx.wales are unregistered in the xxxxxxxxwales.co.uk & xxxxxxxwales.uk versions.

Pretty certain this will bomb in an already overcrowded market.

For a cast iron trickle down value in an extension the top premium names have to be worth high six or seven figures, when the premium names in an extension change hands for low four figures the middle of the pile are worthless.

The .wales release will bring the 'domain addict' out of us all to some extent, but unless there is an intent to develop them, then any return on people's investment is likely to be as rare as Clogau gold!

I picked up a few .wales at launch e.g.

- official.wales
- startups.wales
- childcare.wales
- offers.wales
- flying.wales
- dev.wales
- pic.wales

and various others as you never know.

I also had a play with some other new TLDs too which i liked the sound of, stuff like compare.money, property.boutique and so on - I always have a dabble just incase...

A local 3 branch estate agent and auctioneer has moved from their brandname.co.uk to brandname.wales. A couple of Welsh start up food producers are launching on .wales and not bothering with the .uk's at all.

It is interesting, speaking to local business people they see value in the extension, and these are people who would normally be completely unaware of new gtlds. That is not to say they would pay a domainer for them though!

Bad logic to suggest that because a domain name sold for a significant amount in a particular *tld it "must" be "a gem" in another.

Indeed. For any domain that focuses on its "Welshness" in some way then it seems to work pretty well. So digital.wales, townname.wales, visit.wales, campsites.wales, holiday.wales, localfoodproducer.wales etc work well. However a domain that would be described on Acorn as a "killer" in a .uk doesn't necessarily work in .wales. So carinsurance.wales? Who the hell cares if their car insurance policy is Welsh?

I disagree, how hard is it to rank under those terms?? with this new extension it will allow a smaller company to have a decent bash of getting up there with the rest, most of these savvy SEO guys know that, there is also the branding factor.
