There is one way we could potentially stop this - transfer in all the big drops with fast hosts so others can't leverage it.

@cyberpunk - What happens when something like this is discovered is the people who find it milk the arse of it... Then when they are done with it they tell their close associates who then further milk it and leak it to the public... they leak it to cover there own tracks and then it looks like everyone is doing it and those that have already booked all the domains prior to letting anyone know about it try to slide out unnoticed.

Make no mistake, this was not made public by mistake.. it was made public once they had booked all the names they wanted and to get others on board making it harder to pinpoint 1 person who is responsible for the whole thing

Has anyone 100% verified this is possible with Fasthosts, ie. gone through the full process outlined and been able to transfer a previously pending delete domain to another tag?

Before accusations are made... apologies if I've missed it in the thread so far?

I didnt contact customer services as their online chat was offline. There was a number to call but couldnt be bothered tbh!

I don't think that has happened yet. I believe they would be waiting for the heat to die down before they moved them off those tags or sold them years later. Unfortunately, the heat was on straight away.

i just set up an account and tested with one domain. It's sitting in my CP. I haven't tried to renew so it will just drop.

“Stealing” is a bit harsh, although I get what you’re trying to say though.

I see it like this, the people who are using this apparent Fasthosts loophole are like people who take stuff out of skips which are on someone else’s drive, a few hours before the skip is due to be removed from the property.

Catchers are the ones who wait until the skip has been taken away from someone’s drive and then all run after it at the same time to see who can get the good stuff first.

A death wish? These are domain names, not kgs of cocaine owned by Albanians...

I've tried that with a few bad name still to drop today and due to drop tomorrow, and just get "
is registered elsewhere and cannot be transferred to Fasthosts at this time." - have they patched it tonight?

No it means someone else is leveraging the loophole and has already booked the domain in for transfer with fast hosts.
