RE Long Tails: Lets say your site is about Hotels in London.
You have 100 Hotel sites listed.
You need to break open the long tail list per location / hotel such that the exact keyword on that search has low competition in the SERPs. For example:
- [hotels on bath road heathrow] Exact Searches 170
- [hotels on the bath road heathrow] Exact Searches 22
- [cheap hotels on bath road] Exact Searches 12
- [hotels on bath road london] Exact Searches 12
So you can create a single page with the subject: Compare Cheap Hotels on Bath Road in London Near Hethrow.
Now rinse and reeat fo most major locations. Even if each page gets 2 visits a month, 100 will get about 200, at a conversion rate of 5% you get 10 sales.
The issue here is to work out whether your investment in creating the content is repaid by earnings (ROI).
But if this is just a side thing, knocking up a page a day as a rule, spending 15 mins a day, and you start building somthing of real value.
Thats how slow and steady SEO from Long tail optimisation kind of works...
