Just received this from Accelerator again via DM :

"In your thread:

http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/genera...t-deleted.html

At Post #27, you need to edit out the offensive language where you've quoted your original post"

I don't NEED to do anything.

Funny how you choose to ignore what suits you though; I never did get a reply to my genuine question I asked you publically a few pages back.

EVERYBODY BE COOL

Now, who wants to sell me a nice premium domain?

Plenty of budget for real category killers and single word brandables

Will drop you an email tomorrow Ben; off to bed me as all this excitement has tired me out

It seems accelerator cannot take negative criticism and seems to assume that they are personal attacks, his claims of personal attacks are laughable,* I'd so tempted to say what I actually would like to about him but that's exactly what he wants.

Not sure how old you are accelerator but you act* the age of a teenager.* Either post something relevant and deal with comments which don't agree with you or don't post.* And for God's sake stop threatening to "tell a moderator"* on me and grow a pair

Yeah, off too, I have a poorly coded website from the 90's to work on. :p

Just out of interest (and this is a genuine question)

Was it my use of language, what I actually said OR both which caused you offence?

Both. For a start, you used extremely offensive language, which I would never say to you, and also for telling me I don't have a clue. It's not the first time I've been offended by the tone of your posts, but today I've had enough. Another example is that picture you posted of tumbleweed earlier in this thread. It's just unprofessional and taunting/provoking in nature, that's what I've had enough of. I don't mind disagreements or constructive criticism, I do mind taunting and or provoking. I hope that explains why I have had enough of this.

I can take constructive criticism just fine. What I don't like are the offensive/provoking/taunting type posts. I am merely asking for members to be professional. To be honest, I don't think I should be having to say this, as the forum should be more strongly moderated. Whilst it would be easy to, I won't lower myself to retaliating in the same offensive manner that I am treated with, so now my only option is to report posts when necessary.

http://www.lowprices.co.uk/images/chris-at-london-fashion-week.jpg is that definitely you accelerator? (You linked to it elsewhere on this forum last year). :)

I agree that posting memes and photos can be annoying and sometimes offensive. I've rarely ever liked the posting of such.

I think we understand your viewpoint now and am confident that you'll inform admin of any further events that you feel contravene the rules, allowing them to be dealt with in private? :)

(from iPhone)

I've just taken down that photo, because no doubt the next thing I'll see is someone creating stupid memes of me. It's the meme creating/taunting/provoking/childishness that I've had enough of. I think I've made my position clear. A return to professionalism is what's required, otherwise I'll be off, and I can just leave the children to it.

Again, this is the type of post I object to. It's clearly a dig at my site and it's a personal attack. It's just unprofessional and unnecessary. I won't report it this time, but this is a good example of what needs to stop.

Good to hear you'll be returning to professionalism, it'll make a change from copy and pasting the same thing across multiple forums, it'll be refreshing to see you listen to advice on members and finally change your website design and it'll be fantastic to see you stop threatening members with 'telling the teachers on them' ... sorry I mean mods.

Glad you've seen the light :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Yeah, Ian stop giving him advice, it's so nasty and such a personal attack, if you don't he'll tell on you.

What the hell did I miss?

I will remove "hell" if it offends anyone. Please do not ban me

I have always been professional. The story posts were an attempt to get some meaningful discussion going re business stories. There's no rule against posting across multiple forums. Laughably, people have jumped to the wrong conclusion that I'm doing this for SEO purposes. Actually, I do it for my own interest and to get more content going. Some topics take off, some don't. Anyway, I've decided not to post any more non-domain stories on Acorn, because certain people can't cope with it, so it's just not worth it even though I had good intentions. I feel sad about this, as I expect some less vocal members liked reading them going by the post counts, but I've made my decision.

Regarding my site, I haven't mentioned my site for months, you are the only one bringing it up. I was happy to listen to the constructive criticism I received. The reason the site hasn't changed much is that it's quite a big site now, and I'm not sure I want to spend the time updating it all to a new format. However, that's not really relevant, all I'm asking is for members to be professional and not taunting/provoking/offensive/derogatory in their comments. Criticisms are fine as long as the tone is constructive criticism. However, sadly often on Acorn it's just taunting/provoking. I've had enough, and hence future comments of this nature are likely to be reported.

It's not advice, it's a direct jibe. Fair warning has now been given that posts of this nature need to stop.

I think you should just make 95% of the forum access paid membership, your either in or out, might clear out the dregs.. (myself included :) )

(e.g. isn't ******* pretty much paid if you want the good bits)

OK, so help me - any suggestions to revitalise the site? (apart from more moderation).

Today is the day I've had enough of all the taunting/provoking/trolling type posts I've been getting for the last few months. So, I've been reminding Acorners to read forum rule 5 and be more professional.

We'll see what happens from now. Much depends on the moderating team. I am hoping that the taunting/provoking/trolling type posts will stop.

Okay. Please let this be the very last time you inform us of this. Take the rest of it to private message or email otherwise you're becoming as bad as those you complain about in my opinion.

I'll try and leave it there, as I do have better things to do with my time.

I must admit, every forum I frequent seems to have the same posts and discussions because of the same user. It's definitely put me off a couple of forums.

Preaching the rules while just link baiting isn't good form, to start with I'd probably remove signature links from certain people.

I think lots of people might now be in the situation where they have lots of domains they can't sell, why not more of an aim toward monetizing domains rather than selling them?

1. I must admit - I quite like Accelertor's posts. As a user who doesn't contribute too much myself - I do check the forum daily for 'new posts' to see if anything is worth looking at - ALSO always have my eye on the ball for a good deal. And I must agree with the statement: there's not a lot of contributors at present - so it's good to see some - I've never seen accelerators threads as offensive - always worth a quick read - and some have lead to some good discussions - so not sure why all the beef? Even if it's for link juice - it's a lot more entertaining than some members post - however - I personally don't believe that is why it's done.

2. What happened to Sean???

Context is everything; I ACTUALLY said you don't have a clue differentiating when someone is making constructive criticism OR making a personal attack - given your responses in this thread shows I am correct; it baffles me why you are offended about something which is a totally true statement?

The tumbleweed photo was posted long after you had reported me to Admin (and what caused this whole thread), so has nothing to do with my question.
