lol, haha that is pretty funny. I never spotted that.

I was picking coal of the side of the Railway banks at the age of 4 because of the miners strike. I come from Barnsley, the most Anti-Thatcher place on earth. My Dad worked for the NCB and private mining industry after it was privatised in 1993. He laughs at people who go on about this, he preferred the private Mining industry, better pay and a lot safer. He said because there were fewer unions, the dangerous idiots got sacked. People used to come out on strike in the 1970's because the Sun was out, "sunshine strikers".
What communities did she destroy? Time destroyed those communities in the same way it would have destroyed a village that was based around producing the Sinclair Spectrum... adapt and overcome or die, they didn't do either.
The worst thing Thatcher did for the working class was allowing the Grammar Schools to be closed. The one true thing that got the poor out of poverty, in fact got her to becoming PM.
Also not sure which Paedophiles you are on about, if it was the Lord Mc case then that has been shown to be utter nonsense.
What I mam noticing is people hate her or love her, but they knew what she stood for. What on earth these lot stand for today, I have no idea.
Churchill was an absolute Madman, often found drunk and on Benzedrine. His schemes were far fetched and killed many Australians and New Zealanders at Gallipoli in WWI. He got voted out for a reason after WWII, he was lucky to not be ousted whilst in power during the war.
A bit of time and Hollywood did the rest for Churchill, most of the speeches associated with him are not his own. Whilst a determined man, he was lucky that Britain needed a mad man in 1940, because he was genuinely mad.
what communities did she destroy?
Are you serious
time didn't destroy those communities
thatcher did
were you asleep in the 80's
we're standing on 1000 years of coal
but because we're tied into Europe which Heath and Thatcher took us into we can't use our own energy
we have huge energy problems and dance around the world staging illegal wars beause of oil
we could be self sufficient
because of europe we can't use it and 'climate change' laws
we face blackouts soon as successive regimes/governments have failed wholesale in planning in this area
now even after fukushima when other countries like germany have said no more nuclear, we are planning to cover the country in nuclear being run by foreign countries like the french!
i hate labour as much as tory, but they have a mafia like grip on the country
trust me i hate blair more than thatcher
we deserve better
i wouldnt say it was divided the views on thatcher, you will see millions happy and partying that thatcher is dead as she caused so much misery
some tory supporters and the bbc will wheel out their garbage about thatcher
she gets credit for falklads, but lets be honest theres probably never been a time when we couldnt spank the argies, same as now
and they know it
but the sheep gathered round thatcher, its why so many pms love going to war, to win votes
if you dont support them you're a traitor
I think we finally grew out of that with Blair
as far as the Lord Mc case
don't fall for the con story
have to be careful what we say but spend 10 minutes of your time looking into past cabinet members of thatchers, now deasd who categorically were
also look at the coverup that happened under, guess who, hagues watch
also it was lord mc brother who was the likely party, again dead
again, mcalp art dealer friend who he owned artwork from, ovenden, just been found guilty
and so it goes on
unfortunately most people read the mail, sun etc, bbc and spout the same shit theyre fed
add to that the now draconian laws we have on not being able to protest without permission, people getting arrested for a tweet or instagram, this climate we live in now is worse than 1984
it is truly orwellian
everyone is entitled to their views
I live in derbyshire and communities were destroyed and the pits that were closed and bought back by miners who believed in it are flourishing
one thing agree on is labour and tories you can get a cigarette paper between , run by clowns
miliband and cameron are so weak, (too young imo) with virtually no life experience, and zero charisma, and no plan it would seem
I could talk all day about it.......
well, everyone views things differently, bit of a non argument
what you have to do is educate yourself as to the truth
churchill for all his faults is almost certainly regarded and quite rightly so a hero
far from perfect but one of the greates Britons ever
he shouldn't even be mentioned in a thatcher thread imo
now take the time to look into what i said in my post and listen to the link and do some research
if you're not suitably disgusted and horrified, check your compass
Problem is we will never know what the outcome would have been if Scargill had have run the company.
During the miners strike some friends of mine took time out from the 6th form and went to one of the strikes.
What they witnessed was the police on horseback charge the miners, then the furious miners pick up stones etc and throw them at the police.
When they saw it on the BBC news it showed the miners throwing stones at the police first, and the police charging them in response.
Don't trust what you don't see with your own eyes eh?
Just found it in the Guardian actually: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2012/oct/22/police-violence-orgreave-miners-truth
Mate, stories get stranger that that. My mate was a Inspector with the local Police at the time. The Police officers in his command were paying his brother (a mechanic) money to fix the cars of the strikers for free, so the striking miners could get to the riots. The Police somewhat enjoyed the overtime payments the riots were generating
disgusted by some of the comments i read on the different social media and websites...whether you liked her or not, it doesn't cost you anything to show a bit of respect for someone who has passed away

Got to laugh at how far some people go.. I disagree with it off course but laughing at the guy not his message.
