Making a Domain earn £1 a week

yep mate, checked it on copycape and showed that me and about 4 others duplicated the content, naughty boy me

I should really change it, changed a few words but Google's and copyscape are pretty good at spotting it, but lesson learnt.

thanks all for your feedback - and to firestars for you honesty!

i'm going to paraphrase the pages, should only take an hour as there's only four - and will also credit wiki to for the informational assistance - karma and all that ;)

I may have done it when starting out but I certainly wouldn't do it again.

When creating your own original content for a site Im always amazed at just how quick I get indexed.

paraphrasing in progress..

Well guys, I am learning so much here!

I've done 2 pages of the four, now i'm wondering if it should have been a 2 page minisite instead of a four page minisite - or maybe i'm just lazy ???

I used this site to determine the uniqueness of my content:

http://www.copyscape.com

I used primarily Wiki for my content and then rewrote it until it comes up as unique content on the Copyscape site. Is this the best method?

My site is ValveSprings.co.uk and the first two pages are unique and complete. Will it earn £1 per week after indexing? I hope so - i guess it's about optimisation once the content is determined unique.

All my future minisites will now be as follows...

1) Simple text template
2) Up to 4 pages in size
3) Unique content

Your comments greatly appreciated.... TIA!

I'm putting together a small series of articles looking at creating mini-sites, although most of you guys will be more than familar with this i'm sure. The first article looks at how to get started with mini-sites.

They'll be getting more advanced as they progress, i'll be using the creation of one of my mini-site as a case study to run alongside the series of articles too so i hope people find it interesting and useful!

I would like to start this post by saying a massive thankyou to everyone who has shared their knowledge, I have learnt as much from this one thread as in all my previous domaining research and it has really inspired me that developing my domains is the way forward.
I have finished designing my first site and have a few questions regarding it:

1) Does where the hosting is based effect the seo ranking, my domains are mainly .com but have uk based content, I would like to host with a us based company as they are a lot cheaper than their uk counterparts.

2) Which resellers would you reccomend both uk & us based, im looking at hostgator as a frontrunner at the moment

3) For site ads which company to go through is the general consensus adsense or is there anyone else you guys would reccomend, also can anyone point me in the direction of site for affiliate schemes.

Again many thanks

David

For .com domains and UK content and target audience its essential that you get UK hosting.

As for Adsense, there is a company offering Yahoo Ads in the UK i can't recall there name but they've been mentioned somewhere in this thread i'm sure.

As for affiliate providers i use Affiliatewindow, Affiliatefuture, buy.at and cj.com.

1) Yes, especially with Google. If you want to rank for Google.co.uk searches, host on a UK server.

2) See:

3) See:

http://www.affiliates4u.com/ for UK
http://www.abestweb.com/ for US

build them quick

stuff links in and dont care

some live some rank and some die...stop caring unless you create a monster by accident...otherwise move on

Spending a little bit of time to get a certain kind of link can be worth 100 forum links so they do differ greatly as to their effect, they don't always have to cost huge money either if you play smart.

Well my site ValveSprings.co.uk is already indexed by Google, and is ranked number 2 from 2.2 million entries for the keywords "valve springs"

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=valve+springs

how that converts to traffic, time will tell!

I have just finished uploading my first minisite effort www.aboutclaims.com
can you guys give me some feedback on what you think, obviously its ready for some ads, what else would you reccomend me to do.

Also can anyone shed any light on why i get question marks on my link bar on the home page but not on any of the other pages???

This doesn't look to good:

Clook Internet Ltd is currently performing maintenance to our online systems in addition to our current foundation strengthening. Unfortunately at this point in time we are not accepting new customers as we have placed a halt on new orders. For more information please see our official announcement.

This doesn't look to good:

This is one of the reasons they are so good. They are pro-active, making sure their existing clients aren't compromised by the fact that they are greedy and just willing to take more money.

I have been with them for over two years on the UK reseller plan and in this time, all support questions have been answered and rectified within a few hours. On top of this there is very little downtime, and I mean little.

I for one am pleased they are taking this approach, and look forward to the changes they are proposing in the official announcement.

Just a shame for those not already clients of theirs

Having said this, if they do go belly up, oh &*£$ lol
