I can understand the late bidding a bit more now, particularly when you're bidding on a lot of stuff, it's tempting to bump a cheaper domain up by a tenner when it's close to finishing to keep it in play just in case the other stuff you're after goes over budget!

Well, not too sure how much you know about companies dealing internationally but normally an international payment has to go through the accounts/finance department prior to it being paid and this does take a while.

No worries, your payment will be made by the end of today.
