Is Bitcoin the Next Big Thing?

Be wary of people waiting to sell at break-even. There is far less risk appetite in the lower regions.
Absolutely, as my bank are not letting me spend my own money (failed with a debit card also), I'll just stick with my current crypto pot and see what happens.

Won’t the holdouts be the hardcore HODLers though? The housewives and fomo investors will already have dumped their BTC during the rout of the last few weeks...

Cant you use a switch/meastro ? They dont count as credit as they come straight out of account ?

Is anyone going to admit to building up a crypto position on a public forum? Isn’t that dangerous, potentially?

(Not that any Acorn regulars are into kidnap and extortion, but...)

By buying,
Good point. That's assuming something doesn't come along that affects home ownership. Unthinkable now, but who knows in 20 or 30 years as the books balance less and less. Eminent domain is the one domain-related thing I never want to experience!:D

If labour where in power this would probably happen more and more, they have already mentioned taking empty houses and are discussing taking land..

If you get really desperate, buy a gift card, load it up, and trade it for BTC. That “helpful” tip was in one of the articles over the last day or so about the credit card ban. Forget which one, though...

There will still be a lot with pucker factor 10 who bought relatively close by current level who will want out

There are people who bought in recently who will have got scared by the sudden drop. They are the ones that will likely cash out as soon as it hits (or just goes slightly) above their entry point. The people who bought high will have an attitude of 'in for a penny' and the people who bought low will be holding on for another peak. This is why I suspect we'll see a mini raise before another plummet. Of course I may be wrong - bitcoins don't have to actually follow normal trading procedure. Always hard to tell how the 'get rich quick' mob are going to act and that seems to be a big chunk of the market.

Well you can work out a figure based on how long you expect to live and what your capital is. There is always some bank interest etc. To be honest it's never really bothered me (I've probably got enough) - once you accept a plan of action and believe in it then deviating isn't necessary. As I've always said - apathy about death is not the same as being suicidal.

my plan of action involves lottery tickets

lol the 'new domainer' school of thought :p Well at least it's a plan. Anyway back to the post - BTC seems to be stabilising a bit (well if you call a few hundred fluctuation stable).

Tried with debit, straight from account, but no joy. I'll leave it there, maybe it was a sign not to put more in lol

My plan B has always been the same. If I'm not financially stable at retirement I'll just top myself. I doubt it will ever come to plan B though.

I'd choose migrating to a shady country and pointing dropped church domains to Russian porn sites over that option (like that dodgy domainer in the news recently).

Plus you could get Alzheimer's... which is absolutely fine for the sufferer, because you'd be doing all sorts of stuff with no sh*ts given... and you won't care if you are poor (horrible for their family however).

The one thing I do really hope happens though is that assisted suicide for things like locked in syndrome is made legal. That is the one thing I couldn't live with... having my full faculty but being frozen in my body, not being able to swat away a fly or tell somebody I had an itch. Felt so sorry for that bloke who had his request refused in the high court a few years ago.

Scary story... I imagine it's replicated hundreds or thousands of times across the world, as those who got into Bitcoin early become gurus/experts/consultants to "ordinary folk" and help them to "invest" their savings.

It's such a weirdly unregulated space that it seems ok to set up in business to push other people to invest in something you already have a big position in.

You should play it safe like me and lead an unhealthy life so that an early death is guaranteed

ha ha.... dont worry. I am. I've got all bases covered. Mostly in beer and pizza

EDIT sorry.... thought that was a reply to me for something.
