HostMaria domain business livestreams - tonight 9PM

yes good to see flip back on the sidebar. Now summer is just about over might list a few.
Also would be good to see domainlore's prefix restored under the auction section - most of us on acorn use domainlore.

Just out of interest... Appreciate this was a mistake and code was put in loop or something, but I thought G Ads only ever displays 3 max on a page ? Has it all changed ?

You can manually place the ad code in many different places. There are limits on the number of ads allowed per page. There's an auto ads feature that may place more ads.

It looks like it was "criteo" and not G ads

Interesting to know if anyone actually clicks on google ads? I find them distracting?

Currently £2 - £17/day across both forums (Acorn 95% v DNF 5%). Ok for the starters.

These numbers (detailed Adsense stats) will be very useful and will be used when selling ad space for direct advertisers (I want to see 'Flip.uk' type widget ads).

An ok start.

Is it G Adsnse? (if you dont mind me asking)

Yes, G Adsense. My plans are to approach marketplaces with large inventory + gtld registry operators and various service/tool providers.. they all wish to see transparent data (without added bs), and historical adsense data is as good as it gets for showing the ad impressions/performance + also works as a some kind of guarantee that a website owner isn't faking numbers (or he/she would be banned by G). :)

and, once we start getting cool ad widgets (like Flip.uk one) > the forum will gain additional value for our users.

yes, your question is 1000% fine :) .. don't be afraid to ask these :)

Best! H

The topic: fresh impressions from our recent networking in the dn industry

@Ryan Ewen is in, and I have sent an invitation to @Sam, who has just created a domain name marketing whatsapp group, though haven't received a reply yet (very short notice)

Quick update about the planned livestreams next week:

  1. Monday, probably 8PM - AMA with Joe Alagna from it.com domains (it.com have signed up to be Platinum Members at Acorn and DNForum)
  2. Wednesday 6PM (Confirmed): livestream with Freename > I am taking a web3 tld and will be asking questions how to operate it and other business related questions
  3. Thursday evening (time is unconfirmed: Lars Jensen, from ShortDot SA

huhhh.. what a plan :)

.. and then, off to ICANN78 at Hamburg

H

p.s. considering to start doing domain name livestreams under DNForum brand.. if I will have time to prepare everything.. still thinking

Google Ads... you can't beat it! My heyday was long ago now, but was fun while it lasted! I remember being invited to their offices to take part in an interview panel as one of their chosen publishers. They flew in some of top boys from Ireland. Lots of Google goodies to take home was the highlight for me though!

:) we did set the G Ads up on both forums > some 'friend' set up auto-clicker which sure-enough resulted in a temporary ban.

Start 8PM UK time with @Joe Alagna (in 30 minutes).

This is an AMA live stream - what do you wish ask Joe?

What does he think of the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre?

Also, what does he think of US dial up connections?

My apologies.. tonight technologies failed us :( .. it could be avoided if I asked Joe to test the connection earlier.

We will make sure the quality matches the requirements, and, will be back!

Enjoy your evening,
Helmuts

Going live today 6PM UK time with the CTO Freename.io: Federico

not our usual domain live stream > I am getting a web3 tld .maria (for Maria Ecosystem) from Freename, and have tonnes of business related questions on how to operate such a tld.

:) Have you ever considered having your own web3 TLD?

The planned questions are: how a web3 TLD is run, what are the technical requirements, what are the various fees when a web3 domain name is bought or transferred, who maintains the backend, what are the guarantees that another party doesn't release the same TLD, what is the involvement of blockchain, where the data is stored + your live questions.

Helmuts

Note: I am gradually switching domain name related livestreams over to DNForum's socials (will start with YT and X). Please subscribe to https://www.youtube.com/@dnforum if you enjoy occasional domain name streams so that you don't miss them.

whiskey tld.which im keeping clean and not selling subdomains. I grabbed for a specific reason at the time.

Ive also got a load of other domains.... things like newyork.usa, mississippi.usa , scotch.whisky..... a few others. Minted on polygon.

My hope is that it will integrate with web 2 over next couple years. If it does, ive got some crackers. No renewals so easy
