I'm sorry to hear of the loss, my thoughts are with his family.

That is bad news, very nice guy to deal with. Such a young age as well makes these things even worse.

On a pratical note, having gone through some of my emails with him. I have on or two of his names on my tag. Was helping him out once on renewals or registering them and have them on there. So if someone finds out who to pass these onto, then would be grateful if tey could let me know.

On another note I offered him £1500 for a name but never got a reply (now sadly know why). The problem is that the name is now suspended, although not due to drop for 50 days or so.

So at least if someone does pass messages like that onto his family, it will show them that at least their is some real value in them, rergardless of whether or not any offer from anyone is accepted.

Yes if anybody knows Matts Next of Kin ,i received this from Nominet

Hi Mark,

Thank you for he email.

If the executor of the will for Matt Warne contacts us, we will be able to put blocks on the domains to stop them dropping so they can decide what course of action they will take regarding the domains.

So if anybody is in contact with is family could you inform them.

Regards

Mark

That is excellent news. You have to hand it to Nominet for coming up trumps on this. I know we sometimes bitch and gripe about them but they are by far the slickest registry outfit on the planet in most respects.

My thoughts exactly Dale. Thumbs up to Nominet.

Can't for a second imagine the likes of Verisign doing that.

Wasn't the executor action always an option? I think the great thing about this is what you guys are doing yourselves, what a credit for doing this for one of your own.

I believe they have a 12 month period to claim the domains but in reality, without communication from Nom, very few people from outside of the domain world would know about it.

Yep good one them from Nominet, most people find out how good a company is when the brown stuff hits the fan. This really is one of those occasions.

I don't have as of yet, as I suspect many of us don't. But will certainly get that sorted now if people as young as this are passing on out of the blue.

Just checked Nom terms and this is the official wording...

-----
18 If you are an individual, this contract will end if you die and the person legally appointed to deal with your assets after you die does not transfer the domain name (either to themselves or someone else) within a year of your death (or the end of their appointment, whichever comes first).

Well worth letting your loved ones know of its existence, if you haven't already.

S**t no way, only 29 aswell, i've dealt with Matt last April and sold him a domain of mine, he seemed a nice guy to deal with.

Best wishes to his family

Khalid and Matt both gone and so young :(

I too used his program!

I've only just noticed this tragic news. RIP Matt.

i also was a huge fan of his free bulk checker.

i notice it is not returning results anymore

was Matt ill or was it a bolt out of blue? i can't imagine what his parents/siblings are going through

Ive been speaking to Matt's mum and starting to sort through Matt's domain estate (900 .UK domains) . Im hoping the .UK stuff should be easily dealt with and Nominet are very helpful so should not be a problem.

The .com etc I could do with some help with.

I think it was quite sudden, Barbara has read the posts on here and is thankful of the kind comments. Once we have these domains under control we can arrange some kind of auction.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the letter, I was very touched by what so many people have had to say about Matt. Matt died around the 9th of November last year, it was an aortic aneurisym, I was told it would have been very quick, but it still does not heal the great loss I feel, I was widowed 4 years ago and am somewhat struggling. It would be a good idea perhaps to sell his domains, I know he wanted Devolution & Synergy ones to be kept which I think I have done. But as for putting the other up for sale I need a great deal of help I am no good with all this technical stuff.I do want someone honest to deal with this with me . I have found some companies so difficult to get any information from even with a copy of Matts death Certificate.
