What should worry you immensely is that we're seeing huge numbers of deaths (total for all deaths in hospital is now 8,958) even though a lot of those are deaths that happens weeks ago but which are only being reported now. It's not great news that many of the deaths didn't happen in the last 24 hours, it's appalling news. If the reporting were keeping up in real time, we'd know the full extent of the coronavirus' ravages. As it is, we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg.
In other words, since we know we are definitely at a much worse stage of the pandemic now than a couple of weeks ago, we can expect the numbers of deaths that are happening right now to be even more horrific than the already startling figures, once all the reports finally catch up (late April/early May, or whenever all the data is collated).
And that's even before you consider the coronavirus-related deaths outside of hospitals i.e. in nursing homes, care homes and at home.
