Would you register .Wales and .Cymru domain names ?

There are bound to be some big winners and losers out.

Wales is pretty small, 3 million compared to London 8 million

I think any x,xxx .wales sales will be extremely rare and it will turn out to be a flop of an extension

We will all be losers would be my best bet

The results from the whois are rather patchy. Here's two that are "not registered" according to the whois, no mention of a premium name, or reserved for policy reasons:

south.wales

Also, why are ll.wales (two letters) reserved for policy reasons, yet l.wales (single letters) aren't?

Did anyone else register any .wales domains during the launch today?

TotalWeb Solutions picked up campsites.wales for me - thanks guys.

Not sure if we'll actively use it for a while, but it was a good one to protect for our business.

I've spoken with Nominet directly on this, and the reason we can't register the domain is that applications for it have closed.
Nominet are preparing to hold an auction between all of the people who have applied for the domain, as a result new applications are not allowed. I was, however, told that cardiff.cymru would be released for sale after the conclusion of this auction.

It's been crazy all day. 1and1 were good up to about 7pm lmao.

Since then 123-reg have been instant. I just got webhosting.wales and glasses.wales.

Edit: WTF. I checked domains.wales at like midday, it wasn't showing as available anywhere. SF how did you get it? (And then I checked 1pm, 2pm etc kept retrying to reg it).

I had the kids yesterday but I checked in the morning for webhosting.wales and stuck that on my list and when I went back to it the flippin' thing was gone...arrgghhh....I also couldn;t find domains.wales available anywhere!

They are both on Nominet's "premium domain" list, it's just odd that the whois doesn't reflect this.

When I arrived home he had set up the NRS you told me about, I thought I may get another couple but soon realised that nominets reseller prices are more than every other registrar lol £15 plus vat, hardly a reseller price
