Who's Using Fresh Store Builder?

Im really considering this but whats to stop it going the same way as Storeburst has with Google hating it? bearing in mind Google loved SB for a couple of years.
I really need convincing to shift my SB names over.

Google would never punish or prefer a particular system - it is all about what you do with it.

Consider Wordpress - there are many many sites that are spammy and have been penalised, but there are also some of the most popular blogs in the world using the system.

As long as you use FSB to create good quality sites and add great content you will avoid the wrath of Google. The same goes for Storeburst, providing it doesn't have any dodgy/blackhat kind of features that would attract a penalty.

This seems a little unfair given many of us signed up in the last week or so for the specially negotiated price of $97?

Aiden

This is for a single store license only. The license you guys have is an unlimited store license

I think my main problem is I will fall at the first hurdle, installing it! if its anything like WP then Im doomed as I have tried that a countless amount of times and just dont get it!
Is it easier than that?

Pretty much the same. Create a database/user on the server, run the installer, fill in a few fields relating to the database and you're done.

What part do you struggle with?

All of it, I go into my Justhost cp and my brain melts

There are walkthough guides (with pictures) in the members area that cover everything from ftp to creating the database etc. If you get stuck anyone on here would be able to assist.

Anyone using FSB and/or Amazon for furniture websites, and if so how is it performing?

The capped commissions put me off slightly on larger sales, although the conversion rate may make up for that. :)

I am a complete idiot with anything technical or dev and i am creating a store now.

I have spent a good few hours doing this and am totally buggered with the category population. I go for the auto populate using search term only 3 products show, so i go for manual auto poplute and i get everything that i should not get. the store is for sterilisers and i get dummies the lot.

Am on a 30 day trial and am losing my mind here, i have over 40 shops to set up and i know the first is about learning but jesus.

Is some one nice enough to volunteer to populate my category for me so that i can see what you have done? PM me and i will be our best friend :)

From my experience, unless you re-write all products, add unique content & good quality links (and keep your number of products low) your site will get hit by google.

I just tried this and it works fine:

Search term: Steriliser
Search Index: Baby

Required Keywords: steriliser

Save it then run auto populate manually. This brings back relevant products, you may also need to use filter keywords to filter out any crap.

Auto populate runs once an hour I think and adds a maximum of 10 products per run so if you don't use manual to start with you'll be waiting a while for products.

Any reason for keeping the number of products low (even if rewritten) being better?

How many products do you get with a sales score of less than 250, and how many of those products are not sterilisers, even with the keyword filter on most pumps, dummies, etc.

I have now manually uploaded and will look into this once i have got the products rewritten and the content added.

If you've set the required keyword to steriliser as well as the search term then something must be wrong if it's returning products that don't contain the word steriliser?

The setup that I suggested is basically bringing back these pages here and then filtering out anything that doesn't contain steriliser:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=baby&field-keywords=steriliser&x=0&y=0

If I set the sales score to max 250 I get 8 items returned all of which have steriliser in the title.

Hi Grant i really appreciate you taking the time to guide me on this:)

OK i have worked out that i can populate automatically and now also get 10 items but when i manually populate i get 16 items. Have decided to stick with the maual population for now so i can concentrate on content and getting it live. Once this is done i can play around and familiarise.

fingers crossed

do i need to rewrite the T&C's and P policy?

I am now rewriting all the content and adding 500 words, do i need to rewrite the Privacy policy?

Anyone else notice this in the privacy policy?:

Will we sell your information?

We does not sell any information about their customers; as simple as that. We will not forward your details on to any third party at any time.

I am now getting into the content on the products and have spotted a few spelling mistakes

Does the Meta description need to be unique too?

Whoops.. this was because it used to say the site name (i.e. Bobs Basketball Shop") instead of We. Will be fixed in the next version.

Yes I recommend a unique Meta description for every page you want to rank. The auto generated meta descriptions for products etc. will be unique already
