Which 4 of your Domains have the best potential

I myself also have to stop buying domains and start developing them instead as its a let down seeing all of my portfolio just sitting there as the months keep flying by!

Actresses.eu
Interactivebabe.com
Moped.es
Financed.eu
Newlywed.eu

Some great names here, reminds me to make a start developing :D

In terms of potential i've a few but not quite (understatement) in the same league of some others listed on here

And that is exactly WHY its not the best there. Googlemaps is where most people go. IMO, maps.co.uk has had its day, and that was 8 years ago.

can't understand why a domainer would have this opinion Lee, surely a top end generic like this has (almost) timeless appeal unless searching changes dramatically. Google can't go on forever and their services aren't guaranteed to be free in the long term.

Like many others I have an ever increasing list but decided to look at the top of my dev pile,

glassesfree3dtv.co.uk
I am really quite looking forward to this one, and if the tech keeps going in the right direction it coul be a good earner, just hope I don’t end up spending a fortune on one when researching.

luxurymobile.co.uk
Based on the price of some of these, all be it they are being bought by those with high profile music careers or footballers.

virtualcurrencies.co.uk
Lots in the news recently about this subject and I can see this having a lot of potential over the next few years.

Gesturecontrol.org
I just hope it will fund my home video wall, controlled by minority report like hand movements alone.

(and just in case I pin my hopes on all the wrong domains I intend to document it all on failure.org.uk)

I'm using the word potential very loosely, because I have a couple of better names, but no real plans for them. Here are my current ideas, please don't steal them if they are any good :)

goingrates.co.uk - Small little site showing average hourly rates for cleaners, babysitters, <list of other services>. If I can get enough data (probably going to have to rely on crowd sourcing, going to be the biggest hurdle), the site will be able to drill down to give you average rates in certain areas. If it works, I should be able to sell some advertising.

readingrecommendations.com - The plan is to show Amazon listamatic style lists of books (+websites, magazines etc) as recommended by experts in a particular category. Biggest problem is getting the experts to submit lists, I plan to try and offer them revenue share, but I'm hoping the exposure as the person we chose to be the expert in that field will be enough. The domain's a bit rubbish, but I got told $10k for ReadingList.com and I simply don't have the capital.

A very interesting question.

I have domains which If i got to number 1 of google, they would be worth a hell of a lot. However, they never will. Its similar to maps, probably impossible to beat google to top for maps but still the 'potential' is there. I will have to think on this one!

What about a fairly generic one? I mean I am working on a fansite for a new game which will probably have several million players, what does that make its potential value?

Here's mine (if I ever get round to developing)

3dhdtv.co.uk - looking at a comparison / affiliate site for this
hdtelescopes.co.uk - high definition telescope site
astrovideography.com - just round the corner :)
lightemittingwallpaper.co.uk - good press

laptop.co.uk
lastminuteflight.co.uk
timeshare.co.uk
bookkeeping.co.uk

bookkeeping.co.uk looks like the runaway winner there, if you could set it up as a CPA lead-gen site to feed new clients to companies offering bookkeeping services. I imagine the commission on an average new client (who may use the same firm's services for years or decades) could easily run into hundreds of pounds if structured correctly.

Of course, David Carter is the master of the "high value click" when it comes to CPA... http://www.david-carter.com/wp/

interesting thread this was...

had it re opened :)

How are people getting on with their domains with the most potential ?

I sold loftinsulation.org last week as for creditscore.eu still not done anything with it

yep, Just got the name in the last two weeks.

spent about 2 years trying to get the name & finally the seller agreed.

Try & try again :)

I cant disclose the exact price, pretty sure i got a bargain....
but to give an idea, low-mid £xx,xxx

the seller wanted low-mid £xxx,xxx

Thanks for posting a rough indication.

Sounds like a bargain price to me, I was expecting it to be low six figures!

You could make the purchase price back on Roulette.co.uk through referrals to gambling affiliate programs very quickly, I'm betting...

Thanks Edwin,

Still considering the best option for Roulette.co.uk

Thinking either a whitelabel site or advertising all affiliates.

Looking forward to starting with this one :D
