It's actually farce in the true sense. I haven't seen any of this series yet as I'm abroad, but these people are picked for theatre, not business acumen. And I wouldn't work for his Lordship for double what's being offered. Having said that, I do admire him.

Was listening to 5live about 11.45 last night and they were talking about the task and the fact that :

i. You couldn't ask prices
ii. Obviously couldn't use computers

Explains a bit I suppose. But what a bunch of numpties - the only place you could possibly buy ice is from South East london.... good god.

This series is simply same old same old... a bit bored actually.

They could have got the ice from Tesco or a fishmongers. And the nearest bookshop / library would have given them access to a dictionary to look up the likes of cloche.

As it was, the task was centred around subtly promoting the reopening of the Savoy and it was nowhere near as interesting as last year's treasure hunt.

Yeah, I was thinking about this. Why did they just ask each person to generate three prices from three leads. And why not actually ask the price for the tea before being asked for nearly £1k for tea. And for the top-hat, why not a dress hire shop? Moss Bros or Burtons?

And as for the lack of computing, I think this comes from Alan's distrust of computers, after all he Fcked up the computing industry in this country. Look at what happened to Sinclair/Amstrad both totally mismanaged. Sugar could have been the michael dell, if he realised he's not flogging teasmade's to lorry drivers. Perhap's he is still smarting about the demise of his Amstrad [email protected] has not enables any of the phones to connect to that there thing called the tinterwebbish.

The last time I was in the Savoy, we walked in for a business meeting, and a pot of tea for 4 of us was £26, and that was 2001. It tasted no different to Mantuna Tea I can tell you, so why on earth these muppets thought they needed to push the boat out is beyond me. I imagine the price included the guy in the bogs offering perfumes after you've had a piss. There is something decidedly disconcerting about a bloke doing that after you've just shaken the snake, where I come from we normally deck the guy!

Trouble is there are too many like these people in the outside world.

Ever walked in to a shop and can't get what you want, their systems are about as helpful as a broken Spectrum 48k and their customer service main helpdesk hasn't got a clue either......plus don't get me started on the banks!

It's theatrical yes but they're out there in abundance all consulting and selling

Plus the guy last night that left, who owns optician businesses with a £10k a week turnover, unless this so edited to make him look very bad but he couldn't lead, manage, control or even organise. Does make you wonder if his overheads come in at £20k a week

Yes! You'd be surprised what people were prepared to use their toys for in those days. If I recall, we offered a database template for tracking food in and out of freezers. Sounds daft today

Yes! You'd be surprised what people were prepared to use their toys for in those days. If I recall, we offered a database template for tracking food in and out of freezers. Sounds daft today
