Anyone watch the show last night?

Do these people not realise how it makes them look when they come out with such drivel?

As soon as it was known that the boys team lost, it was pretty obvious who'd be going home in the taxi - he came across as a complete plonker in the show but on the aftershow on BBC2, he didn't seem so bad. Think he was trying too hard to be Alan Sugar's mini-me in the task and boardroom.

You have to remember that each contestant will have to film a VT prior to the programme starting in which they have to state favourite business quote, etc.,

Whatever they say is then cut and edited in to programmes.

Equally they will be asked to make a "stand out" presentation prior to being selected.

These too are cut and edited in to programmes.

So it is very easy to film the candidates over two days, see who gets sent home, and then edit a programme to highlight their failings, ridiculous statements, etc.,

Even the boardroom conversations are heavily edited. You only get the highlights with the same editorial slant.

That's entertainment.

And that's why Edward Hunter came across so much better in the post-match analysis programme.

Yes, but they should realise by now that if they say something daft, it's going to get used against them.

The best line of the night has to be ' Not only am I the youngest, but I am the shortest'

I refuse to watch it. It is embarrassing that's the best people they can find.

What was the quote from the other project manager? Something like -

"I don't accept that the sky's the limit, when there are footprints on the moon."

Yes, and apparently she was trained by The Dalai Lama...

That's the daft thing about it. Each year they are hyped up as being 16 of Britain's most promising entrepreneurs. Um well what about the thousands of people in Britain in their 20s and 30s who are self made millionaires? They don't want the job for £100k on offer in previous shows. Why would a successful entrepreneur want a job anyway? Alan Sugar himself didn't want a job when he started his business either.

And now it's changed to a £250k business partnership. I guess Alan Sugar doesn't want any more useless backstabbing dumbasses pestering him each day. But even the partnership wouldn't be particularly tempting to Britain's young self made millionaires because presumably they have to split the profit with Alan Sugar and it wouldn't be worth having to take their eye off the ball in their existing business.

I do find the show really entertaining though, just to watch all the egotistical boneheads bragging about their abilities, making such fundamental blunders and having to work with people they blatantly hate!

It's a game show.

As George says is will all be heavily edited to come across however the editors want it to. The candidates will also not necessarily be the best, as after all that probably wouldn't make as good television viewing if they were(read somewhere a while ago how they use psychologists and assessments to find clashing personalities, can't find the article now though).

However, it is highly entertaining to watch and gets people talking which is the reason for it's success.

If anyone fancies having a bit of a laugh, here's Leon Doyle in the Dragon's Den showing off his "expertise"...

Leon Doyle was pitching many moons at a Yorkshire VentureFest event that I happened to attend and so him pitch in the flesh. His performance there was worse. I thought his idea was crap, in fact I still do. He does remind me of a dog with a bone, that just will not leave it alone.

I try not to be too negative with people, but felt he was behind the times...when the whole world was moving towards online ordering...he wanted to distribute paper menu's. he might be succesful from the simple fact he seems bloody determined.

For anyone who is interested, don't forget the second episode of The Apprentice is on again tonight at 9pm.

Yes, but they should realise by now that if they say something daft, it's going to get used against them.

Try applying for a show like this, say nothing of interest or controversial during the selection process, and see how far you get.

Really interesting to hear what Alan Sugar said last night - £250k "in cash and value". How much hard cash the winner will get remains to be seen.

I thought his Lordship picked the right one to leave last night - haven't seen him do anything of note.

the pussy loves madeley

LOL.... top quote.

Was listening to 5live about 11.45 last night and they were talking about the task and the fact that :

i. You couldn't ask prices
ii. Obviously couldn't use computers

Explains a bit I suppose. But what a bunch of numpties - the only place you could possibly buy ice is from South East london.... good god.

This series is simply same old same old... a bit bored actually.

It's actually farce in the true sense. I haven't seen any of this series yet as I'm abroad, but these people are picked for theatre, not business acumen. And I wouldn't work for his Lordship for double what's being offered. Having said that, I do admire him.
