I wouldn't ask that, my question would be how can I get on this gravy train
It's a shame Nominet don't do anything which leaves members to try and police each other where it can become personal
I wouldn't ask that
I decline to ask those questions (David?) or take part in this discussion thank you. I declared myself out of all this when I messaged both Sean and Ben. If Ben has found a legitimate way of catching, which it certainly seems to be the case (as much as it pains me), then my time is better spent trying to work out what magic he's using. Merry Christmas all.
@CreativeMix making statements but when asked to explain what he means says he could but refuses to do so despite what’s being asked of him being easily attributable to many other forum posters. Wants to know who I am as if it would somehow change his answers if he did?
I haven't refused anything, I've made the promise that when you give us your true identity I'll answer your questions. Sounds simple to me?
The real problem here is Nominet's ineptitude. Getting rid of Ben doesn't fix the problem, it just shifts the balance of power to those running hosted catching and TAG farms.
Cheating is endemic because Nominet's inaction has created a race to the bottom.
The best cure for all of this...
Rather than giving catchers access to public services, Nominet could build a user interface where catchers login and load the domains they want to poll and domains can only be loaded the day before they drop (This means they can't login on the day of the drop and adjust the domains they have in their poll list)
Nominet could set a default where every account polls for 200ms thus covering 24 hours, once that the domains that account has loaded have dropped then the account finishes for the day (The user will not be able to login and add additional domains to chase that day because this needs to be done 24 hours before the drop date)
What would the benefits be...
1) There will never be any flaws again in Nominets systems because people won't have public access
2) Every account polls at the same speed regardless
3) Nominet will see a clear pattern in members logging into accounts at what times and what domains get loaded
4) If you have two accounts you will not be able to strategise with chasing patterns and speeds throughout the day (If you did have two accounts and you loaded one domain on one account and one on the other... when one of those domains drops you will not be able to login and put the same domain on the other account because again this would have to be done 24 hours prior)
5) This would put a stop to 75% of the current problems
I don't agree with this, but I'm no expert on this matter. The best cure for all of this...

please detail the feature or method you’re using right here in this thread...
I don't like it when he is getting all the good drops either, but realistically, why would he do that?If you really want to see Nominet change something, please detail the feature or method you’re using right here in this thread...
I don't agree with this, but I'm no expert on this matter.
In my opinion simply publishing the drop time or ideally dropping all domains at 2pm will solve most problems since there will be no need for DAC for dropcatching.
Just my two cents...

I have an idea – misdirectionI’ve no idea either. Why would he post an alternative method to what’s current when he’s doing very well and many others aren’t? I’ve also no idea. Why would he let @CreativeMix “use his code” (whatever that actually means)? I’ve also no idea. Why’s he even on here posting and not laughing away at home? Maybe he’s lonely. I’ve no idea.
misdirection
