including: wifeswap.co.uk, worldofpain.co.uk, pornhouse.co.uk... and many others.

wtf... they add domains like videosex, then reject these and many other from forum users!

And sedo are very conspicuous by their absence from this thread...

It is very odd, I guess they're trying to get a good mix of extensions in there but that still doesn't explain the rejection of domains that are clearly better than some that have been accepted.

I put this down to it being a yank making the choice, my experience in the pornworld (and it is extensive btw, I attend parties, trade events etc) is that the yanks totally ignore .co.uk for porn use, they see porn as a global thing, and thus country levels with 2 extentions (i.e. .co.uk rather than .uk) as being unacceptable.

In general they would see .uk as unacceptable but the double nature is their main beef.

A good friend of mine Terry Stephens aka OneEyedJack who runs Real Couples, OneManBanned and Wrist Action was telling me a while ago that while he was running Real Couples - Exclusive Movies from One Eyed Jack featuring genuine real couples (NSFW + Free backlink for Terry ) and making enough to enjoy life the yanks had no interest at all in him and it was only after shelling out 5 figures for the .com that suddenly doors opened that had previously been closed.

So I put this down to a yank making the choice who has a basic understanding of the LA scene but not the UK scene.

It doesn't explain the majority of 'european' words on the list, or the mix of ccTLD's. Looks more like a sedo DE headquarter jockey making the decisions than a yank.

Nevertheless, rapidly losing patience with sedo on all fronts.

I haven't had much dealing with euro words and porn, so I don't know the general consesus, I only know the feeling towards the UK. If you want to take this to the porn world visit GFY Webmaster Board (NSFW) and see how they fair and if they want to submit some stuff to SEDO, that way its americans hitting sedo and see what trash they get accepted

I've just realised that one of the names in the auction is asses.co.uk and that was one I used to own and let drop !!!

I even posted it for sale on Acorn previously and no takers.

Just bought a very nice .co.uk name in the Sedo adult auction at the reserve price.

If anyone had names that didn't sell at reserve and you would consider selling under that price then please do PM me with the names and prices and I'll look them over (please don't quote the reserve though - if I'd wanted them at that price I'd have bought them already!!). Same goes for rejected names if you have an asking price.

Whilst the auction was running on the bid page it gave a range that the reserve price fell into eg £0- £499, £500 - £999 etc.

You don't know the exact reserve but you have an idea

Exactly. not an exact science, but a ballpark - also you can obviously see the bids that have not reached the reserve, so if they are higher than the bottom of the reserve range that narrows it down further.

I think that post auction sales prices also depend on who set the auction reserve - Sedo or the seller. If the seller set it then fair enough they may not want to sell lower, if Sedo set it then they might. No hard in asking the question though!

I did think that some of the reserves were very unrealistic given the market and the search volumes on the terms in the names. Maybe beauty is in the eye of the beholder though - so each to their own.

I agree some of them reserves was nuts on the .co.uk they were like .com prices.

I notice Rick didn't get too much interest again, you'd think after all the hard work he'd put into trying to hock the name, he'd have set the reserve close to the offers he's had.

I'm all for holding a name for the money you want, but with the amount of work he's put into shifting it, he must want it gone, so its time to do come get me prices.

I can't help but wonder if some of them names would have started a bidding war if the reserves had been lower, like sex.co.uk if the reserve had been 50k, would the few bidders on that have gone head to head and taken it up into 6 figures rather than ditching it at mid 5 figures.

On the whole seems like a step forward and 2 steps back, I wonder if sedo will try again only this time accept better names, and if people will see the value of adult doesn't match generic despite the abundance of cash in adult.

The thing is, only a really proper generic adult name is worth money nowadays.

I don't know a single person who PAYS for porn now, it's all free if you know where to look.

I know a lot of folks who want to see porn( my mates are all army) but no-one pays to view nowadays.
