Playing with undeveloped.com

Well, it looks like they've rebranded to DAN.com. Not sure it's an improvement to be honest.

I moved a large part of our portfolio over to undeveloped a few weeks ago. I am, therefore, not an undeveloped expert - but can't say I'm that happy with rebranding and other changes. Maybe, in time, it will feel better. What do other dan users think?

Not a fan of the rebrand at all.. why change something that just worked. I'm not sure end users are going to make the connection between the new name and domains :(

However since moving to their platform in April I've had 8 or 9 decent sales come in. The process is usually very smooth too, not had one fall through yet. A huge improvement over Uniregistry who have one of the most confusing and cluttered interfaces i've ever had to use and brokers who kill sales with their copy and paste robotic sales talk.

Really seems like they've shot themselves in the foot here. The rebranding seems like a marketing gimmick to push some blockchain bs. Might be time to go back to Sedo.

Surely not, Sedo is awful.

I'm not an active seller, so undeveloped was good for me in terms of increased sales but I tended to get much higher offers on Sedo. I don't know, I just think this rebranding is awful. The site used to look high end, now looks like a WordPress theme.

DAN doesn't do it for me as I thought Undeveloped said what was on the tin (undeveloped or not) was bang on the money. It's time to barter!

However I've been slow off the mark but I'm going to put around a hundred on there and see what happens.

Dan = Undeveloped = 190k?
Hmmm wouldn't have been my choice.

I anyone else experiencing massive delays in communication when using dan.com ??

Communicating with staff? Yep, their '3 hour response' was more like 2 days last time I reached out.

As an aside, handy tip, if you are made an offer and you want to know more, contact them and within data protection limits, they will give you an idea who the potential buyer might be. Useful if they end up being an end-user company within an associated industry ;)

What are you waiting for ?

Just general queries.. And one sale that is taking forever where information just is not not flowing within a good time frame..

It seems to me that they are seriously Underveloped Understaffed

I'm going to give undeveloped/dan a try and I'm on the sign up page. Is it best to use your own name or maybe register under a domain sale url you might have (Do you represent a company) gives another drop down for company name?

Regards, Jim.

Can you elaborate this? Give us an example. Because recently I am fed up with tyre-kickers who want and think a domain should be valued max GBP100.

So when an offer comes in, drop Dan/Undeveloped a message asking for more information on the buyer. In one particular instance I had, the guy worked for a media company in Australia, and it was a media domain, so I knew at least that it may be a genuine offer and gives some idea how best to approach a counter offer. Apart from telling you the email address or name of the company, Dan/Undeveloped can be very useful for hinting at size of operate, how you might find who the person in through third party platforms etc.

I already do that myself without dan. If you search the name in LI you have a high chance to find him directly but that does not change him to be a tyre-kicker. I once found the potential buyer who is a high level manager in mickey mouse film company, who perplexed by my $1,000 offer.

I sometimes find.. The bigger they are the less they are prepared to pay.

All true, but I'd rather be fully informed than not at all.
