ok, im searching on sedo.co.uk and it's not listing .co.uk or .org.uk domains!

com, net, org and eu , yes

WTF!
99% of endusers will not use dropdown box on left.

why would the .co.uk site of sedo not default list .uk domains AND .com?

also, bloody sedo upselling .ie domains. clearly a few people need their kncukles rapped at sedo

not just anyone can register .ie domains. you have to be an irish business or trade with ireland on quite a big basis
lots of paperwork and hoops to jump through

the 'register' now link sedo provides goes through to 1 and 1 where it says 'this is not a valid tld'

LOL

people at sedo, if you're reading this.... you really are crap :D

Here's a test, which I think is a pretty fair one!

Let's see if Sedo will fix one thing. Just one. A very, very obvious thing, that has been mentioned on here many times (in this thread and elsewhere)

Make Sedo.co.uk focus on .co.uk domains, in search results and elsewhere

If they make that change in a reasonably quick time, it shows they're willing to listen and more structured suggestions or even a face-to-face meeting may be warranted.

If they don't make such a blindingly obvious alteration, it means they REALLY don't care!

Yes I agree Edwin - it's time for Sedo to give the UK market the prominence it deserves - Sedo.co.uk needs to display .co.uk domain sales and auctions

But does Sedo.co.uk actually have a retail following/audience in the UK domain market?

In google.co.uk search "domain names", Acorn Domains no.58 in 100 organic results. Sedo nowhere.

What registrars do they partner with (search outputs - buy this domain at Sedo)?

Nominet are way down too. Not sure if that is a reflection of Google or Sedo.

never knew 1 and 1 own sedo
or so they're saying on dnf

Yup, owned by United Internet, FastHosts and 1&1's parent company who also own GMX, Affilinet and a couple of other companies.

New Search Tool

Thank you all for your feedback regarding the new search tool.

I have gathered your feedback and had a conference call with product management regarding your points.

There seems to be an issue with the search results for UK IP addresses not returning .co.uk names. This is being addressed. Please make sure you select english language e for .co.uk results.

If you are looking for .co.uk names without a keyword please make sure the search box is blank.

You can find featured domains by selecting this option in the special inventory tab.

The parking traffic column can be found when logged into your account.

.ie domains have been removed from the search results.

I have asked for a webinar to be available on how to use the search tool.

We will be regularly working on the relevancy of the results and the speed. Our customer’s feedback in regards to both is very important.

If you spot any more problems please send me an email at [email protected] with a screen shot so I can address your issues as soon as possible.

Thank you again.

regards

Joanna

If you need that it would indicate it is not intuative and poorly designed.

Rob - it would be to highlight the changes for people who are used to the old tool.

If you don't like the idea let me know and I will recommend that it should not be created.

Sedo New Search Tool Updates.

The .co.uk search problem has been fixed. You should now see .co.uk results when searching. Please select .co.uk as the tld.

Also you will shortly have an option for the .com and .co.uk 1&1 sites so if you are from the UK and want to register a name you can choose the UK site. Currently it just being changed to .co.uk site if your IP address is from the UK.

regards

Joanna

Conversely "domain names" or "domain namen" in Google.de no.22 and no.10 in the organic results.

The .de registry (denic.de) ranks well also no.3-4.

haha
yeah, go do some research and see what we think of 1 and 1

lowest of low in registrar terms
bloody cheek
