I think you need to move the logo in 10px from the left and move the header banner in 10px from the right. They don't look aligned correctly and seem as though they are edging off the page.

You can put them in a <div> and give a
padding-left:10px
or
padding-right:10px

Or put both the banner and logo in a single div that has the same width as the forum

Anyone else see it? (I'm on Mac with Chrome)

Hi, Thanks for that, we've made changes in-line with your recco, looks good here in Chrome, FF and IE.

So is there any chance you would consider altering the layout width (maybe set on an alternate theme to keep those who don't like change happy)

a quick section tag after the body would do it

HTML:
<body>
<section>

</section>
</body>

css
section {
    max-width:1150px;
}

Could just add this to the additional css block:

Code:
body {
    margin: 0 auto;
    max-width: 1150px;
}

But indeed id recommend doing it on a secondary/child theme because 1150px is way to small when your working with a 2000px resolution on a normal laptop screen.

I did note the request but I don't want to limit the site width like that, like Adam says. There are a lot of different screen resolutions users are using to view AD and I have to do what suits the majority (decision made after viewing Google analytics screen resolution data).

Another theme that displays smaller, maybe in the future but thats not something i can knock up. It would be easier if you minimized! ;)

Can I suggest that you remove this text from the description of the premium domain names for sale section - "You must apply to Admin to have your names put under consideration to be shown here."

There's no need for it to be there and it would hopefully allow the last post column to be expanded a bit so that last post titles can be shown in full.

Cheers :)

I can do that although I'm not sure it will have the desired effect you are thinking of. Actually, without being a paid member you won't be able to post there soon.

This is done.

vbulletin actually make it very easy, would take less than 5 mins if you wanted to do it. ( I can understand if you don't to keep things simple ), but the option is there if you wanted :)

Been a while since i used vbulletin 3 but 4 isnt much different, you should be able to go to styles and templates, locate the current theme and in the drop down menu you will see "download". That will then download the xml file for the current theme.

Once you've done that goto "download / upload styles" , select your freshly downloaded XML file and put it as a child theme.

Once complete goto the child themes style properties and at the bottom you will see a Custom CSS block. Add the code i put above and your done.

The only thing you might need to do is go into the options and make sure users can select styles.

The reason i say upload it as a child is because it means you wont have to edit 2 themes going forward, any change made on the main theme will replicate on the child , but visa versa it doesnt so you can customise/experiment with child themes as much as you like.

Obviously make a back up before you do though just incase you accidentally select the wrong thing and overwrite the main theme lol.

Interesting. Are you planning any other features to be limited to paid members only?

I would be wary about starting charging members for things like this so soon, it may end up putting people off using certain parts of the forum, and the amount in extra revenue gained from this maybe negligible anyway.

Actually, without being a paid member you won't be able to post there soon.

Can I ask, will this just apply to the premium forum, or will it be spread to all for sale threads?

If just premium, then will measures be added to stop people posting premiums in standard?

I signed up to Full member yesterday to see what the fuss is about after speaking with Steven last week , At this monent in time i cant see any different to what i was previously allowed access to......nothing has changed.

Unless the usergroup promotion hasnt been setup to automatically promote a user upon payment. :?:

Looks like you are still an Ad Senior.

Yeah thats what makes me think maybe its not setup to auto promote and Steve might need to add me to the usergroup when he gets online.

Maybe the PayPal plugin wasn't updated yet and it sent the £ to Alan

No payment went to Steve, so would assume thats correct :)

Afternoon Adam,

I've updated your user status now, thanks. Please bear with me everyone, I'll let you know when I've put together the details of membership levels and features. I will layout as simply as I can what free membership inlcludes (less than now) and what paid membership includes.

If it was an issue that the forum was slowly dying when it was free, it could be worrying how it will be when you have to pay for certain things.
