Thank you to all those who have pm'd and emailed me, I hope I have answered all of your questions.

For information purposes.

You have full control of the script, setting the dac polling frequency etc

If you buy outright you can simply copy the script for your own use, and use it to poll the time delay dac also.

For those paying monthly, a time delay dac script addition would be just £15 per month the same as the real time script.

Time delay dac can be used as a secondary script to poll for domains on your watchlist that may drop early or suspended domains due to drop early etc

Yes you will need your own nominet membership and access to the dac and epp.

No, I wont be offering a catch service, but if you keep your eyes out there are plenty on this board, and I am sure some of the new users will be offering catch services.

There are currently no plans to offer catch lists, these can also be bought from other places, such as dacr.co.uk which offers a comprehensive list. I am sure there are others so keep an eye out.

Outright purchasers can change the script as they wish, however, the contract they sign will disallow any resale of any part altered or not. And yes, it is quite simple to add a secondary email automation to run with the epp.

No, there is no yearly signup needed for the monthly option.

Looking at my feedback here on acorn, within the last 2 1/2 months there has been 2k worth of sales here.

And some decent sales privately also.

I sold a recruitment software domain recently so today I went for Accounts Software and although it may not have been on many peoples lists, I wasn't the only one after it. So if anyone wants to buy it let me know lol

As I said earlier in this thread, it hasnt caught any LLL domains, although it has sent reg requests for everyone when it polled available, but it has caught some pretty good ones, and ones that were easy to introduce to end users.

Feel free to peruse my not so good catches, you will find them in the bargain basement lol

After a Pm I thought I better point out to those who I havent spoken to, the enom api version will not now be sold.

I have learned, 'thank you for the information', that anyone using domain catching with the enom api will have their reseller accounts terminated and their domains put at risk. No good selling software if the buyer loses out big time.

For non Nominet members, you could query the epp at upto 5000 times a day and catch that way, however, the chances of competing are less than slim with a wind behind you. It would beat the hand reggers, and maybe if you polled for just 1 hour, a very slim chance. All you need is a nominet tag and epp access.

Lots of people have contacted me, who have not got a nominet membership yet.

So I have given them an alternative.

I do say in the post, that the chances of catching are worse than slim, so not trying to sell something without all the facts.

I think I have been more than fair and open.

If they want to spend £15 a month then its up to them.

I am also considering offering with a couple of other catchers, a £1 drop catch service. So £1 on top of the reg fee, Catch less than £7, no win no fee of course. Maximum 6 catch bookings per day.

I intend to do as much as I can to make catching domains as cheap as possible and open to as many people as possible.

That is within the current domain community, unless you want me to advertise outside also

I don't wish to come across as rude and this is a domain forum, not a business forum, but...

Maybe my maths is not excellent, but at £1 for the drop catch, by the time you've deducted the PayPal or bank fee, spent your time adding names to a catch script and then generating an invoice, recording payment in your accounts and processing the transfer after the domain, you'll not make sufficient profit to pay yourself at minimum wage for the time involved and that's assuming you catch every name.

Well its not really for making profit.

And the £1 drop catching is only in theory.

But the catch script for just £200, and the monthly plan, where you get hosting and use of a scrpt for just £15, is excellent value.

You don't mention the fact that you need a good server, with fast access to Nominet to run this on, these don't come cheap and usually come with a setup fee and a monthly fee, so that's another cost, you need to be able to secure and manage the server or pay for someone to do this for you, so that's another cost.

For someone who has the necessary skills to maintain and run the system in a secure way should have no trouble in writing a simple system to stuff names to an IP port, process the reply and stuff an EPP request down another IP port. After all, the guts of any catch system is only a few lines of code in a loop.

The average person is not going to beat the top regulars here without spending serious cash or being a systems programmer who can tweak every fraction of a second out of their code.

In my opinion, anyone wanting to start catching would be better off booking with no-win no-fee catchers and building a decent portfolio this way.
