My Euro Bets 2012

For tonight and tomorrows matches I've gone with 6 x £3 doubles and a £2 accumulator from these 4:

Draw/Spain @ 7/2

Italy v Republic of Ireland - Over 3.5 Goals @ 2/1

Draw/England @ 9/2

Draw/France @ 7/2

Running total = £160 staked (including above £20 stake) - £156 returned

Doesn't look like a lot of goals happening, so 1 more bet just placed, £20 double:

Italy and Under 2.5 Goals @ 19/20

Croatia v Spain - Under (1.5) @ 10/11

Running total = £180 staked (including above £40 staked today) - £156 returned

Nice late goal for Spain :), perfect result for both bets that was, so it's a winning in running double tonight, which pays for both of tonights bets and a profit of about £34 on top of that, with the Spain result going on to the 2 matches in doubles tomorrow, small profit made no matter what happens tomorrow :)

[edit]

Got £74.45 for tonights double

Running total = £180 staked - £230.45 returned

with 15 mins to go I had a tenner on croatia at 11-1 to win, theyve been scoring a lot and spain looked halfhearted and it only takes 1 goal
oh well, it was speculative

was 0-0 and a 3 horse race at time

ukraine are playing at home and will have that x factor in the sense they know they have to win
BUT

we have so many scoring options on the pitch and bench (not often you can say that with england :D) I just feel really confident
not happy with leaking goals in every game but shevchenko is the main danger and if we show him massive respect and mark him out game we should be fine

I feel we win both halves, not just eng-eng, but each half like a minigame to win both, you get 13/2 for that, rather than just evens for win
I'm all over that

this is also far more speculative and the price isn't that high considering what a feat it will need but had rooney for a hatrick at 30-1

I know, lol
I just have a GUT feeling it will happen
but all things considered he really seems focused, his temperament is great and will be rested and fit
also is the easier of the three games
he laso will have a feel for tournament, no cards , no injuries and will have watched them play
quite a unique position he's in
we have a lot of strikers on pitch who can steal golas but if he sits off main striker in favoured position I think wayne could make up for shagging that granny, finally :D

these are pred's top two tips and have put my money where my mouth is

the one main thing we are missing is Rio though
for me a glaring ommission not having him there
we need him. he would have took care of mellberg both times

Passed it; If one ht/ft comes in it is usually 25-1 so at a .50p stake that's £12.50, losses to date exceed that so would need two or 3 wins to move into profit. It is clear that the strategy isn't really worth doing in the long term, that's why the bookies give these odds I suppose.

At least I know how not to do it;);)

Betting can be OK if it's for fun and can be controlled. ( few people fall consistently into that category) and the betting industry always flourishes in a recession. When you start to try to make money, profit to labour cost ratios jump in ( you have to take greater risk ) and then it's a downward spiral. But good luck though, rarely is it more needed.
I stopped backing horses when I worked it out 25 years ago that it would be more cost effective for me to just send the bookmaker a cheque every week and so save me the time and effort of losing the money.

1 extra bet as I know England can screw up at times and could be down at half time :), so I've had £5 on:

HT-FT Ukraine/England @ 28/1

[edit]

Running total = £185 staked - £230.45 returned

Both 0-0 at half time so need wins for England and France to give me 3 winning doubles with the Spain result last night. Goals are thin on the ground again, so I've put another 4 x £2.50 doubles on at half time:

France 1-0 @ 13/5
England and Under 2.5 Goals @ 11/5

France 1-0 @ 13/5
England 1-0 @ 10/3

France and Under 2.5 Goals @ 13/8
England and Under 2.5 Goals @ 11/5

France and Under 2.5 Goals @ 13/8
England 1-0 @ 10/3

Running total = £195 staked - £230.45 returned

Get in Englanddddddd :)

From last nights doubles I have 1 winning £3 double on Draw/Spain @ 7/2 and Draw/England @ 9/2, which paid £74.25

[edit]

Ballsed my results up on my notepad, thought I had France match under 2.5 goals, but was actually France AND under 2.5 goals, thought I had another double there lol

Running total = £195 staked - £304.65 returned

France Back 2.2 4.00 2.2 (4.00)
Sweden Back 5.7 5.00 5.7 23.50
England Back 2.6 4.00 2.6 6.40
Ukraine Back 4.1 5.00 4.1 (5.00)

My bets for tonight did them during half time.

Woohoo. Nice one England. Good to get Italy instead of Spain too.

What do you think of our chances against Italy? I've been fairly impressed with us defensively, but am worried that although we've been scoring, we haven't actually had many attempts on goal. Not as though Italy are prolific goalscorers mind you. Odds wise it looks pretty even.

Might as well throw a couple of Ascot bets up here rather than start a new topic, done 3 x £5 doubles on these:

Ascot 3:05 - Chachamaidee @ 7/2 (2nd)
Ascot 3:45 - So You Think @ SP (won)
Ascot 4:25 - Captain Bertie @ 11/1 (unplaced)

Those Ascot bets were all supposed to be at SP, not sure why Will Hill have done it as if I took a price on 2 of them, didn't click to do that, grrrr

[edit]

Chachamaidee dwelt in the stalls and lost about 6 lengths at the start, then it looked like it was going to win in the closing stages, only for the horse it had passed to battle back and win by a neck.

That's the group stages out of the way!

Running total leader board:

team/team x10
team/draw x3
draw/team x9
draw/draw x2

24 bets 19 losses -£25.00

team/team x10 average odds 3-1 stake £48 returns £30 -£10
team/draw x3 average odds 16-1 stake £48 returns £48 even
draw/team x9 average odds 5-1 stake £48 returns £45 -£3
draw/draw x2 average odds 4-1 stake £48 returns £8 -£40

Done a £20 double today on these 2 today:

3:05 Royal Ascot - The Fugue @ 9/4 (2nd, no chance with the winner)

Plus 3 x £3 doubles on:

3:05 Royal Ascot - The Fugue @ 9/4 (2nd, no chance with the winner)

3:45 Royal Ascot - Fame And Glory @ 5/6 (never in the race, disappointing)

4:25 Royal Ascot - Piri Wango @ 16/1 (5th, ran well enough)
