I wouldn't have said that they were especially fantastic domains...

Laughter was ok, but I agree. Generally shows the level of post-prenom domains that are dropping now. The gems are few and far between.

Follow the TAG guys, follow the TAG (INDIGO all the way along).

'Indigo Media Solutions Ltd' (CH no. 3241966) was also the 'INDIGO' TAG holder's name at least as of May 2001, according to Nominet's archive record at the Wayback M/C. They then changed their name to 'Indigo Pub-Link Ltd' on 24 Sept. 2001, which was later Dissolved on 20 May 2003. Dead end yeh! No.

Go back to the Wayback M/C and you'll see that by April 2003, one month prior to the above company dissolving, Nominet's site showed that the TAG holder's name had already been changed to 'Indigo Internet Ltd' (CH no. 4273516), which had actually started back on 28 August 2001, and 1 month before the first company above had changed it's name, and some 20 months before the company above was Dissolved. Again, this company was itself also Dissolved, but not until 28 July 2006.

However, again at the Wayback, Nominet's site shows that before the second company Dissolved (see 15 June 2006 for example), the TAG holder's name had been changed again, this time to 'Wedgewood Developments Ltd' (CH no. 4732801), started on 13 April 2003, but currently only in Liquidation, therefore still approachable.

The TAG holder's name is now recorded as 'Tilt'. Given that an individual can pin together an acceptable chain of events on the back of the above, then the opportunity is there to claim.

True - but registrant type is unknown - which may be where they check.

I don't quite think that is how it is :). A lot of reg type fields have shown up recently as 'unknown' following the introduction of the new Nom system last month, but the reg field always takes precedent. If it says Limited/ Ltd. then that is what it is, but of course there has to be a reference to that entity at Companies House, or a foreign business registry if it is an oversees company. The database is the definitive source reference. Other than that a party has to take legal action if it has grounds to argue that a domain should never have been registered to the Ltd. Otherwise it is total chaos and anarchy.

Maybe Nominet has an undercover agreement with someone to let the dropping names go where the someone wants?

What is a TAG and what is DAC ?

Also, maybe Nominet has an undercover agreement with someone to let the dropping
names go where the someone wants?

At the very least, you should try to get an understanding of the basic technical setup before you start making suggestions like that.

Aah an old thread that I don't mind being resurrected!
As I don't have access to deleting anymore I dont get to see who got what. But looking back at the past conspiracy theories stating the 2 usual suspects get everything and hence know something.
It looked to me that 1 tag seemed to get everything decent and the other only got what the first didn't want. Obviously I know I can't know what the first was going for but that's how it looked.

Is it still the case that they are taking the rich pickings and everyone else is scrapping for the chaff?

If nominet won't address or report on the issue couldn't they be reported to the DTI or Monopolies and mergers commission?

it seems to me, that nominet don't have to answer to any court / or law in the U.K.

They seem to be above every challenge, just my opinion
