for the org.uk auction there was mainly two buyers that picked up most of the names....
This is where I don't understand the policy about not limiting the number of auctions / domains that anyone individual or company can go for. I am not suggesting one or two - but 10 - 20 or even 30 in each category would have at least allowed for a fairer mix of owners right across the cctld's offered.
I can see the "market forces" or "available to anyone" argument, but all this does is to perpetuate the control of domains through users with the most money.
This was a perfect opportunity to allow more individuals to own 'prime' domains, but Nominet chose to ignore what would have ultimately have created the fairest route for the masses (in my opinion).
That's not a dig at the owners who did mop up - congrats to you - you are also lucky to have the funds to invest in what are great domains - I just don't see why Nominet just went for the highest bid route with no limits - it's not like anyone there is able to get a bonus or anything :| !!
