Just bought this name ISA dot co dot uk and was interested to see how much users here valued it for.I paid a fair but for it!! I plan to develop it unless I get any high offers.

Thanks

The exacts don't blow me away, but that's just one measure. I really like the name. If you develop it and it ranks well, who's to say that a financial institution won't buy it from you.

I'd imagine it cost a fair few grand Rob, but likely a good bit less than it's worth, very nice addition, congrats.

Well done Rob,

They accepted the £150.00 offer then? Jokes.

Yes i can see this turning 6 figures developed.

Thanks, Darren.

Well, financial connection aside, it's a top-notch letter combo – as good as they come.

I think you'd struggle to get six-figures undeveloped, I was thinking more like very low ££,£££. I can't proclaim to be an ISA expert though, so could be wrong.

Congrats Rob on a fabulous addition to the portfolio. A great generic for an ISA comparison, review and info site. Clearly poses a major challenge to develop anything competitive in the serps for the popular terms, so I'd concentrate on the long tail initially. Difficult to value this one. I'd say late 4- to early 5-figures undeveloped, whilst developed well for the right buyer, mid to late 5-figures.

one of those great domain names where it might be worth quitting all other development to concentrate on one site..

I think this is on the money!

A great URL doesnt mean great rankings in competitive serps....it helps but you still have to invest as much money as the others to get to top of Google unfortunately!

Also ISA has its one large peak of the year in April so if thats missed.....

Then theres data feeds from Defaqto that all the comparitors use...ISA's will cost you about £500+ a month probably...or you could scrape the data...

Quality buy :)

Thanks for all the comments and advice. Agreed, ranking it won't be easy!! However the real value in most names is in development, so I'll give it a go!!

Thanks again

It's a great name, no doubt about it. When you see it listed in the SERPs it will give you instant credibility.

However, like you say, great development will be needed to do it justice. My thinking is that a very important component of money advice sites is the trust element. You have to put a bit of personality behind the site. Obvious examples of this are Money Supermarket and Money Saving Expert, where their owners present themselves prominently on the site. I feel that's a major element of the success of these sites.

I agree, great name, and should be a moneyspinner.

@Acc: Who are the owners of MoneySupermarket and where are they on the site out of interest?

I was referring to Simon Nixon, founder, who you can see on:

The moneysupermarket.com customer promise

I checked before my post and he was appearing on the home page, but maybe that was displaying from browsing history, as now I can't see him on the home page ... certainly traditionally he has been there.
