iphone - any good?

Iphones and Apple products in general IMO are utter garbage, I wouldnt use any of them if given for free. Style over content, abject failure in every department when compared to other products, even ones signifigantly cheaper.

I honestly think if you got Steve Jobs off the record he'd have a Ratners moment decrying that anyone who buys his products is a moron and deserves to be relieved of their money.

Are you an expert? Do you know what flavour of Unix that the latest Apple laptops run on? No, not just OS X. Try BSD. And the iPhone runs on a flavour of OS X but I agree the phone is retarded. The MacBooks aren't. They have Intel processors and can run Win Vista/XP etc. in native mode - either in bootstrap mode or as virtual machines. Don't understand your logic.

Dont get so defensive, as stated "IMO". Sure I've used BSD, very good product, although I still prefer Linux.

My logic is based on ownership of said products. If you think Apple's success in entirely based on the quality of their products and is not largely due to aesthetic appeal, IMO you are mistaken.

BSD is essentially a flavour of Linux. I never mentioned "aesthetics". Read again my friend. I have been a pundit of "Lisa" until Xerox GUI was brazenly copied in the 80s.

I love mac stuff. Just ordered 16 macbooks for our school. I would be lost without my MacBook Pro. Got fairly new Nokia... Will wait for next generation iphone.. or possibly the Gphone will be out by then..

the SE P1 is a much better bit of kit allround, we are not saying there are certain features of the iphone that are cool, but our three have gone back and iTouches have taken their place (g2 ones)...
