This has nothing to do with this thread but thought it might lighten it.

Question 1:
If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis; would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before scrolling down to the answer.

Question 2:
It is time to elect a new world leader, and your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

Candidate A: Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He’s had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B: He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whisky every evening.

Candidate C: He is a decorated war hero. He’s a vegetarian, doesn’t smoke, drinks an occasional beer and hasn’t had any extramarital affairs.

Which of these candidates would be your choice?

Decide first, and then scroll down for the answer.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Candidate B is Winston Churchill.
Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And by the way: Answer to the abortion question -
if you said yes, you just killed Beethoven.

Rob I see what you are saying, I was being more devils advocate than having a go although came out something different

Peronsally I think you are giving the individual too much credit. Hitler didn't create Nazi germany, Nazi Germany created Hitler.

Same with the BNP, Nick Griffin isn't creating some huge thought of kicking people out. Huge thoughts of kicking people out are creating Nick Griffin.

Now you may say that Nick Griffin is putting thoughts in moderate people's heads and if it wasn't for him then this wouldn't happen.

This is a side issue and and obivious diversion because if nick Griffin didn't exist it would be someone else and if that person didn't exist it would be someone else.

Have a look at studies of things like this, one was on the BBC two a few years ago called "The prisoner". What it shows is that society has roles and people will fill those roles.

There is nothing you can do about that, so lock them up when they break the law or let them go with the flow because they will be often replaced by something far worse if what they stand against brings on that change.

His dad taking him to National Front meetings from a young age probably had a big part in that.

The individuals make a group, and other individuals join and grow groups.

Now you may say that Nick Griffin is putting thoughts in moderate people's heads and if it wasn't for him then this wouldn't happen.

Nope, the areas where they gained seats they polled *less* actual votes than last time. Overall I think their vote was up from 800,000 to 900,000 . I dont believe there are vast groups of people changing minds, but even if there is a chance of that its worth unmasking them for what they are so people can be more informed.

I agree if Griffin was not around there would be another to take his position as a figurehead, be it BNP / NF / WNP whatever.

If you re-read the thread I am not soley blaming Griffin, however he is part of the problem. My main issue is with the incorrect and frankly devious manner the BNP goes about things eg. the stuff like they are not white supremicists, the Gurhka thing was false yet abit of youtubing shows it from their own mouths.

I agree the egg throwing was weak, and I much prefer Charlie Brooker's suggestion of arranging for a few hundred good looking women to turn up the next press conference and to point and laugh :)

Perhaps I am just worried about the flimsy manner people use their vote, or could use it, based on a 30 second advert. I am 99% sure Flynny was joking, but there are people out there who believe in a BNP rebranded WW2 which is just shocking.

A complacent government (& opposition) does in effect allow this to happen, and its an area where everyone could improve things.

Rob if you can, watch this. It tells you everything you need to know about the rise of the BNP, the insurgency in Iraq, the fighting in Afghanistan and the rise of Hitler.

This has been repeated time after time and gets the same results everytime. What it shows is that it isn't people, it's roles. Roles are set and people will drop into them like snooker balls on a snooker table.

Sorry it wasn't called the prisoner it was called the experiment YouTube - THE EXPERIMENT - BBC2

Not sure where the rest of it is or can be found but if you can find it then it's worth it.

A complacent government (& opposition) does in effect allow this to happen, and its an area where everyone could improve things.

Very true as the film shows

Yup - very much like the Stanford / Millgram experiments , it can explain or at least be a theory on why people turn out like they do and to reason actions however once you see it occuring 'outside' what should you do? With that show, if any physical harm was going to happen I am sure the BBC would have stopped it as they would not want the legal implications ;)

I agree making martyrs of anyone just furthers that cause and can create support, however to stand back and not challenge things would perpetuate the cycle.

A sensible balance has to be met, and to me pointing out the blatent contradictions with the BNP (eg. as raised in this thread) is a good way of debasing them. I would hope that results in real awareness rather than sympathy :)

The stanford one was very naughty :D

But very very funny, shame there is only poor footage of it all.

The uk electorate has no brain, this has been going on since the silly arses voted for labour in 1997, my life went from having a jolly good time under the conservatives to a squeeze on income, social life, pay packet until i was forced to emigrate because it was either that or id have attacked parliament. British public has no foresight to get rid of rubbish before it goes real bad, warning signs were evident. Shoudl have sold the house as well, as that was obvious too, pay packets don't go up in ten years so how comes house prices do?

Politics is for idiots, look at them all, in too long and they go currupt, the UK should have ousted this government six years ago, not given them another term. The BNP being elected to the eu isn't a problem, it's just embarrassing but I think you'll find no one really give a **** and votes in any loony as a protest vote to their own government - every country does it including Romania, not some government that sits in another country represented by unknown british people, European Union don't mean much to anyone in Europe as they have their own states and affairs to look after, not many realise the EU has power these days, but then if they did, the EU probably wouldn't exist.

The girlfriend told me the idiots her country put forward for standing in a 20% turnout, I'll get her to remind me later and i'll update - I said eu elections weren't important, she said they were, i forgot to ask if she voted but I'm not into ridiculing the one I love. Fact is, main parties don't listen and it's easy for someone to spout what they can do without having to do it, bnp in government, first six months the police will clamp down on riots and then the restrictions will come on everyone so as to control any disorder, fact is I'll come back and go to war with every elected member of the bnp should they get into govenment so don't worry about it, by boat if they turn me around at the airport. That's a promise. Does that make me a terrorist? Oops. Even though i live here, i will protect my countries interest but I suspect 20 million others will ensure that situation never occurs anyway.

Could you protect the countries interests by voting properly in europe? yes, as it's embarrassing but you'd be hard pushed to convince me and millions of others to vote even with bnp getting a gain but it might be a lesson to us all soon, although as eu citizen, I probably could have voted here. I don';t trust the eu much either, rock and an hard place.

As for the bnp and immigrants, yes there was too many but it's the end of countries with borders, we're going into space, one world in inevitable, get used to it. You can have your British lessons and the English language taught to all who enter, and jobs will always go to people willing to work for the money and the intelligent and able will always go elsewhere if they can do so to have a better quality of life. Sort out education would be a good starting point, followed by law and order and morals. I'm much safer living where I am, i was safe in London but having been back there three weeks ago, I hope it's another 1.5 years before I have to come back.

God save the Queen, God help the bnp!

PS: make sure your child is taking double science and learning Mandarin and keep them healthy!!! It aint puppy fat, your child is ******* fat, do something about it!!

I don't get it mate. They want to deport all Muslims? What about white british Muslims who converted? There are some 10,000 or so of them converting to Islam each year, what are you going to do with them?[/QUOTE]

Give them a virgin and tell them it aint all it's cracked up to be so don't go reading the extreme version. :p

Why am I being so defensive? you called me a racist! How about I call you a paedophile, is that ok?
I don't care where the immigrants come from, eastern europe, pakistan, africa or bermondsey.
There also seems to be one way traffic for racism here. It's front page news for Jade Goody making racist comments about shilpa shetty but Fine for Jermain Jackson to call someone a honkey.
Also if we go abroad we are expected to live by that countries rules and if not suffer a public flogging or have your hand lopped off. Whereas here we have to change the rules and not hurt their feelings.
That is why people vote bnp imho.
Give enough rope etc etc... Nuff said mate ;)

By the way, she told me she was 18

call someone a honkey.

Are you offended by that? I'm certainly not, I've been called worse, see your last post for more details.

You just talk in riddles. And I'm not your mate.
If you want to call me a racist then type that. Letter will be in the post.

An open letter to Nick Griffin, Chairman of the BNP and MEP for North West England09 June 2009

Dear Mr Griffin,

We couldn't help but notice that there was egg on your face (and on your suit jacket) on the day after you were elected MEP for North West England.

Please don't leave egg on ours.

You wore a Poppy lapel badge during your news conference to celebrate your election victory. This was in direct contravention of our polite request that you refrain from politicising one of the nation's most treasured and beloved symbols.

The Poppy is the symbol of sacrifices made by British Armed Forces in conflicts both past and present and it has been paid for with blood and valour. True valour deserves respect regardless of a person's ethnic origin, and everyone who serves or has served their country deserves nothing less.

The Poppy pin, the Poppy logo, and the paper Poppy worn during Remembrance are the property, trademark and emblem of The Royal British Legion.

For nearly 90 years, The Royal British Legion has pursued a policy of being scrupulously above the party political fray. It is vital that everyone - the media, the public and our beneficiaries - know that we will not allow our independence to be undermined or our reputation impaired by being closely associated with any one political party. This is more important now than ever.

On May 27th, 2009, the National Chairman of The Royal British Legion wrote to you privately requesting that you desist from wearing the Poppy or any other emblem that might be associated with the Legion at any of your public appearances during the European Parliamentary election campaign.

He appealed to your sense of honour. But you have responded by continuing to wear the poppy. So now we're no longer asking you privately.

Stop it, Mr Griffin. Just stop it.

Regards,

The Royal British Legion

Aww and heres me thinking we could be best buddies.

According to you I have already called you a racist, so I am awaiting my letter in the post  Fucking cock!

Essex is famous for its green policy; recycling waste and giving something back to the environment. As they say down Dagenham way, "better aat than in" which is illustrated here by Billericay's recently elected spokesperson:
