Re bulk back ordering, if it's more than about 50 names just email their support team and they'll take care of it within a few hours. I used to email blocks of 200-250 names and get a complete report back on which ones were backordered for me and which ones had already been taken by other DM customers.

Of course having that functionality inside the account interface would be nice too, but wanted to let you know that alternatives are already available.

@grantw I have just replicated that process and yes I can see that getting very annoying. I have raised this with the relevant developers to see what can be done. I'll keep in touch on this thread to let you know if there are any developments.

@mattyr45 Good to hear you got Chrome sorted out Matty! Internet explorer should be solved with the same process.

Did suggest this some time ago, why not have .co.uk for bulk lookups too?

@fish Bulk .co.uk search is done by changing your search options.

Log into your account at Domainmonster.com

Then click Search Options:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the "Customise your bulk domain" search options and select .co.uk, then press save!

Hopefully that will help a few of you bulk searching for .co.uk domains :)

[Apologies for the horrendous tutorial screenshots - but they get the job done!]

Have to say, I'm feeling encouraged by the level of support here by DM. Not got any domains hosted with you currently but feeling tempted to bring mines over as it seems that little bit cheaper too.

Thanks, that's appreciated.

@fish That functionality has been there a while! Just a bit hidden away.

@grantw That's no problem Grant. As I said I will keep you updated.

@lovekraft Responded to your PM!

Decided to just get on with bringing my portfolio over and was very grateful for the quick assistance from Sam in helping me do so.

@lovekraft Great to have you on board! You know where to contact me if you need any further support! :)

Ok, so i have brought one of my portfolios over and so far so good.

Quick couple of questions.

Is there a way i can switch off auto renew for all domains in one go and if so where can i do this? I prefer to renew them myself manually.

I notice some domains that i brought over that happened to be in suspended status, it says i have to phone to renew these. In my previous control panel, while still in suspended status i had the option to renew these from within the control panel right up until they dropped, as often i do leave it to the last moment to decide if it is worth me renewing certain domains or not. Will monster charge an extra fee to bring these out of suspended status when i phone? I think it would be easier to allow users to renew these from the control panel while in this status.

@Lovekraft - Turning off auto renew for all of your domains can be done, just send a ticket to [email protected] and ask for all of the domains to be turned off auto renew. On this occasion I have gone ahead and done that on your behalf already. Please note though that in future all transfers in and domain purchases will have auto renew active by default. You can turn these off individually or just ask for auto renew to be deactivated for everything in your account via an email. Renewing domains in suspended status requires a call to the support team. Unfortunately this cannot be done from within your Domainmonster.com account.

Thanks Sam, i just noticed they had all been set to not auto renew as if by magic! First class

I don't mind phoning to renew suspended domains, can you just confirm if this will just incur the normal renewal fee or if there is any kind of sub charge in order to bring it out of suspended status? Certainly with other registrars this isn't the case but thought i would ask anyway.

Hmm, interesting. At daily.co.uk, where i have just moved these from you had the option to renew without any extra charge right up until it dropped regardless of the status.

If there is a fee for this then i have just put myself in a position where i might have to pay extra to renew some domains that i was pondering over wether to renew or not, knowing that i could have done this without paying any additional fees when with Daily where they were up until an hour ago!

I guess this means i will have to be careful if bringing in expired domains in future if i wish to avoid extra fees. Also means i will need to make my mind up BEFORE they reach suspended status if i am to stay with Monster. Oh well, at least they are a little bit cheaper for renewals and registrations but i will hold off with moving my other portfolio until this is confirmed as i wasn't expecting it.

Yes, send the suspended ones back to daily if you want to renew!

I can't, since bringing them into the monster control panel i have lost all control of them and can't transfer them back to daily. I just made a quick phone call to monster who say i can email them a list of these domains and they can renew them for me no problem without any extra charges so it shouldn't be a real issue.

I did prefer the ability to renew suspended domains myself though. Thing is i didn't even have any problems with Daily whatsoever, i was mainly attracted to move to Monster by the slightly cheaper registration / renewal fees monster offer.

They only do this free so many times I've been charged by DM in the past for renewals that had to be processed by support.
Its a shame really I think a lot of people on here like the option to leave renewals till the last minute why take the option from the control panel after a certain point.

Yesterday, i changed the bulk search option from .com to .co.uk and saved changes - happy days.

Changed it back to .com this morning, and saved the change.
However, the results still bring up .co.uk upon subsequent bulk search.

Repeated to make sure I wasn't going mad - same result.
Repeated, logged out, logged in - same result - still showing .co.uk's

Has anyone else had this Sam ?

Edit: tried switching to other extensions e.g. .net and .be - works fine straight away when I go back to bulk search.
It just doesn't work when I try to change it back to .com.

@LoveKraft Glad to hear you got those renewed! I would advise you try and choose whether or not to renew them before they become suspended. Good to have you on board though and just let me know if you need a hand with anything else!

@newpbc Our grace period is 16 days across the system. This is because every registry is different. If we were just a .uk registrar we may have that functionality. But due to the range of TLDs we offer and the differing rules between the registries, we remove the domain from the account 16 days after expiry. That should be ample time to decide if you want to renew the domain or now. Hope that clears things up1

@emkay0101 Great to hear! If you need any advice then let me know!

@Caz Thanks for your consideration Caz. Will look forward to hearing from you via PM.

@KingDomainNames Hi, unfortunately there does seem to be an issue with that! I'm not sure how it has come about but the dev team will look into this one and get it sorted ASAP. A reasonable workaround is just to perform the bulk search while logged out. This will revert it to .com bulk search. You could have 2 browsers open, one logged out and one logged in, to search and register respectively? Apologies for the issue as I said, will get the product team to look into this as a matter of urgency. Thanks for the feedback! Hope the temporary workaround I mentioned will let you at least make the registrations you need to!

Thanks all for your feedback and support! We aim to please so in addition to our email, [email protected], phone number, 0845 3662467, Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or Here at Acorn Domains.

Sam
