amazing!
what a buzz

i take it your missus will be bringing you a cold one out by torchlight tonight? lol

your neighbours will be calling you fred west as you'll be out there digging all night :D

if you look on ebay completed listings, the best price was £76.87, for a coin that looks worse than yours.

have u ever bought in topsoil for your garden?
or is it just as is?

get the metal detector and get your neighbours involved, maybe some more lurking around

just having a tidy up in the garden, was just under the surface in the bottom corner.
there is a woods at the end of the garden....hmmmmmm:rolleyes:

I don't mean to put a downer on things, but you may want to check with the local museum first. You can buy replica coins for a few quid in gift shops and although I'm not saying it definately is, you may want to check before celebrating. A neighbour of mine found a few coins and the local museum was more than happy to help.

If it does turn out to be real then congratulations on your find. If not then don't tell anyone ;)

I was thinking this too. Best get it checked out before getting too excited. Of course, I hope that is it real though. Maybe there are many more to be found. Keep us informed.

If you do find more of them, perhaps that would suggest that is is real. A single coin could be a replica smeone would purchase, but I'd think they're be unlikely to buy many more than that. GET DIGGIN!

iv got to be honest its not really exciting me, just an old coin, if it was a ring then i would be happy:D

Found a few Roman ones round here but they arnt worth much!!!!

Nice find it has always interested me metal detecting but never got round to actually doing any.

iv always wanted a metal detector also, but never got round to it, might take a look at some in a bit :D
anyone want to swap for a domain before i think of what to put on ebay??
