For some searches a box often appears under the google ads but before the other websites with a definition of the search term in it. Most often it is a wikipedia page but can be any 3rd party site. The box has a little feedback link beneath it

Is there a known technique for getting included here??

It depends somewhat on what's being asked I think. If it's a how to type of question then bullet points seem to help or numbered lists, steps etc. Often times it's just relevant seo. Have a search for how to get in googles answer box, there's a few decent results there that will probably help.

Thanks didn't know it was called the google answer box! Will google now.

The data in it is supposedly pulled from the Google knowledge graph, so the trick is to get your website well documented in places where Google draws it's knowledge from - e.g. wikis, serious authority sites within a niche, BBC, etc.

Allegedly.

There are people out there who claim to do it, but it's very black hat and I believe Google update the info regularly so if you do manage to spam your way into it, you won't be there for long.

Unless you can do it legitimately somehow.
