Get a Free Second Opinion on Domains via PM

Hi Guys

If anyone, including newbies, wants a free second opinion on a domain, feel free to PM me. E.g. you might want some advice on whether a particular type of domain is valuable, or advice before buying a domain. If the domain is free to reg I promise I won't register it (although bear in mind forum PMs can be read by forum owners).

Offer is open to anyone so don't be shy.

Thanks

Whilst I truly do admire your seemingly genuine offer, I cannot help but feel what you are offering is a tiny bit flawed and could possibly be you trolling; basically this is how I read it :

Someone genuinely needs a second opinion about whether paying £6 to register a domain name (which is free to register) is worth buying and taking a risk

from

Someone who is not willing to offer any form of credibility about how they are even able to offer a qualified second opinion on said domain name.

Surely when it is laid out like that, you can see why people are thinking you may have a hidden agenda? the whole concept is wrong. If someone isn't willing to take a £6 risk on their own they are never going to get anywhere and further still if they need to have someone (seemingly unqualified) holding their hand then it is like the blind leading the blind.

Please tell me I am wrong and I will apologise immediately before you report me to the mods as I don't want no threats like last time, that is not how I want this to go down as I have proper learnt my lesson.

Personally I would not reg it. It's too complex a term to be strongly brandable. The -ing ending isn't good either. I wouldn't bother booking it. Very little potential. No it won't make your life complete.

Personally I would only register shorter and more strongly brandable domains, and I would strongly favour .com over .co.uk.

The chances of a good sale on masquerading.co.uk are very low, but not impossible. If you are going to reg brandables (and weak ones like this) you would need to sell high to support the high number of renewals necessary.

Personally I would look for something better.

OK, thanks for that.

It was just a domain I plucked from the domainlore list of upcoming drops. Means nothing to me, just wanted to see the type of answer that would be given, and surprised that no one had asked for this in the first few replies.

The 'review' contains alot of personally's ('s or ies???) rather than concentrating on the domain. It appears as though your review is coming from the viewpoint that the purchase of this domain would be sell it, rather than to use it.

Its all subjective. For me, I can see an easy flip, or a good affiliate line to follow.

Will I buy it? No, not in my industry :)

I don't see an easy flip at all, so I wouldn't buy it. However, yes it is subjective. I'm just offering a second opinion, but it's highly likely I would save you money on this one.

I feel the need for a sub-forum on this.
Preferably - Paid only.

Great opportunity to kill 2 birds with one stone - so to speak.

Good idea admin?

Why do it in private? Why not share the knowledge?

I just find it a bit patronising and a bit "ebooky".

From my personal point of view I'd have been happier with this offer of a second opinion being put out there and just left at that. No-one, not accelerator or anyone else needed to keep this thread going all day long. The fact that it keeps popping up in 'new posts' is more annoying that any other factors :-D. Lock the thread, admin. Pretty please.
