Here are the cheapest prices I've seen (so far) for post 1 March .co.uk registrations and renewals.

I've put a few options because there may be other things to distinguish the offerings other than price that you might want to pay a few pence more for.

For smaller numbers of domains:

For larger numbers of domains:

NOTE: AFAIK VAT is applicable to all the above prices.

Hope this helps!

You don't have your own tag Edwin?

Yep, we've got one. But I thought the info might be handy for other people to have in one place since I had to collect the data for my white paper anyway...

On the basis of £5 per domain per year, it's now cheaper to get a Nominet tag if you have 100 names plus.

At £3.75, you'll save £125 per year (to cover the annual £100 + VAT Nominet subscription) and gain more control.

It's not much more to add the annual DAC fee for setting up catching (£25 + VAT)

All you need to swallow is a £400 joining fee, and the fair amount of Nominet red tape that exists these days.

But then, you'll have the bonus of maximum control of your names, and the ability to do free transfers, etc.

Have to respect losing 7% per registration after merchant fees.

Although the company is a Nominet Channel Partner (under tag FASTREG), the company also use eNom, Inc. to register and manage domains, hence why it is able to offer cheaper prices.

looks like they charge you £9 to transfer away

For transfer in:
If your domain has 3+ months left on the expiry date then the payment you pay is refunded in full. If the domain is due to expire within 3 months then this fund is used to renew the domain for 2 years, so this charge is the renewal cost. So either way the transfer itself is actually free. More details can be found here.

It's a rather complicated process to aid system automation, this requires no human intervention, so if your domain has 3+ months left and you don't want to pay £9.00 just create a ticket and the order can be placed manually.

Transfer away is ALWAYS free, but tag change request can take up to 48 hours to complete.

Looks like a good fair system to me. Are you sure that's your March 1st price as enom prices are going up.

We have already updated our website and billing system with the post March 1st price.

Pre 1st March price is £3.75/year, so if you want to just renew your domains before the price increase PM me and I can arrange that, again you are free to transfer out if you wish. As a domainer myself it's great savings!

Just been shifting a load of mine over to Vidahost from Heart Internet
Heart want £7.50 per year for .uk , with NO multi year discount!.

Just renewed some of my .uk 's for 5 years at Vidahost for £13.89+vat, at Heart it would have cost £37.50+vat!

As of today Godaddy new registrations prices are currently £4.49 for 1 year and £7.99 for 2 years all inclusive with the promotion they seem to have been running for the last year or so still in effect. Come renewal you can always move a number of domains registered with them elsewhere in one go as the price will go up to the the normal price then.

Downside is it means using Godaddy :/

I think if the big boys had sense they would be running customer acquisitions about now. March should be baiting time, and hope lots of them stay. There will be a race to the bottom again by renewal time.

It is very strange seing some of my domain names with 2020+ renewal dates now. Where are the flying cars???
