Two domainers take over forum for talking about domain names. Domain name forum DNForum has officially relaunched under new ownership. Domain investors George Verdugo and Kevin Faler purchased the forum from Adam Dicker. The once-popular domain name forum declined in popularity in recent years and mysteriously went dark last year without any warning. Adam Dicker’s…

Love the comments about how namepros is so much better. That place is full of spammers trying to sell awful extensions. There's no information there. You only have to look through the hundreds and hundreds of threads in the for sale section with 0 replies and see the quality of what's being offered to see why. At it's height dnf offered information, discussion, as well as sales. Namepros has *never* offered any of those. A sad day for the industry if that's the only outlet left apparently 'worth' visiting. Also there are lots of indian members asking questions which they then answer themselves a few days later just to try and drag eyeballs to their spam affiliates. It looks like some of those members were trying to drift across here but thankfully it seems the admin put them in their place and sent them packing.

Most likely because DN has always been paid membership to gain marketplace access, if people have to pay to contribute the quality will resemble that even if the fee is relatively small. Any free marketplace that starts to reach certain searches or is seen to be a money maker will be riddled with crap unless its highly moderated.

Similar to whats been happening here, its free so you will get those people coming in, if this place was marketplace restricted to paid members then its like most of the recent ones would never have materialised imo. Most of those that do list here on a regular basis are exclusive or paid up members anyway so it wouldnt be a bad idea to allow all members to view / buy domains but restrict the listing of them

When I got to this point, I knew exactly where you were going :p

Really Admin should do a false flag, encourage spammers to join then say "sorry everyone, if you don't like spammers I do have the solution.. lets all do a paid membership for your guys benefit"

You have to pay at namepros monthly to spam.. people do. Nothing to do with payment in my opinion - more to do with thousands of crappy gtlds, a new generation of 'get rich quick' kiddies, and a place that allows them to get up to their rubbish. I remember when it started it was always a league below dnf and ds and the 'advice' there was laughable. However I'm guessing from the comments in that article people are happy in their ignorance. Just a shame the rest of the industry now has little forum choice.
