Cheap Reseller hosting

I have seen Cheap Web Hosting - Buy Website Hosting from Web Space Experts come up on here a few times, I have *never* used them so can't tell you much more than that.

I have used Web Hosting UK | ColdFusion, Professional, Java & Managed Hosting | CWCS in the past, they are a little over your budget but they are pretty good, if I had to choose a UK based host other than Evo i'd prob go to them, the only reason I left them was their view on adult was some what strange at the time. They have now sorted the adult thing and are reletively clear.

Cheers Skinner i'll take a look at the second one. I have a hosting account with weycrest at present and they are the worst i've ever used. The support is poor to say the least and the guy is ignorant with it.

Evo were cheap but their site seemed a bit amateur which put me off. Theres missing images and it loads about 150 images when you goto their homepage. Doesn't inspire confidence.

Kyrstal were similar. their signup came up with an error and no one contacted me as it said. in their defence it was over xmas. but they also had missing pages etc.

Evo's servers do their talking IMO, Dual Quad Core Xeon 2.5ghz Machines/Blades, 8gb Ram, 2tb Raid 5 arrays, NEVER oversold either.

I had Evo's owner Tim in email on New Years Day early afternoon sorting some DNS stuff out for me, which was an extra service and could have waited but the ticket monkeys paged him because they couldnt answer it, and 2 hours after I emailed he replied personally.

24/7 Support is 24/7 support regardless of xmas or not.

Hi there Stender

Just found this thread in Google and thought I would drop in and say hi, as I see somebody here recommended us.

Had a right nightmare just registering with this forum, as it seems that if you know your username, but never recieved any signup verification, your locked out totally, no way to contact anybody at all, leaving me having to register all over again. Seems the "Contact us" link at the page footer only comes up when your logged in, but you need to be registered in order to login, and contact somebody for help with loggin in lol...

Hows the search for hosting coming along?

Still doing my research. Have counted out the ones i previously mentioned. now looking at ifusehosting,innohosting and ezpz.

Anyone use/used any of those?

You could always give us a try as Jon mentioned

Hi Stender

I've been using wesh.co.uk for several months now. Looks like their 200mb Shared Hosting package might meet your needs - up to 20 domains, £84 per year

I went with them because of their excellent support - a real person on the end of the phone!

HTH

Cheers, Jon

No idea which Jon this is as we have at lot of customers called John, but thanks Jon :D

Thats actually why I stopped in as I found the reference to us here in Google.

Anyone recommend a decent cheap reseller host. Yes there are such things. Although not the case with my current one.

Looking for <£100 pa. cpanel/mysql etc.... for circa +- 20 sites.
I have a couple already but want to spread things around.
uk based preferred but not necessary.

Had enough of shite service im getting from the cock at one of the hosts i use.

evohosting and eukhost are ones im considering but want to find some more reviews.

thanks in advance.

do you specifically need cpanel setup for your hosting requirments?

no but used to using it and whm. never used multiple hosting always reseller even though i dont generally host for others. how does a multiple hosting work then?

Multiple hosting is what I used on skindustrial, skindustrial is the main hosting account then all my mini sites and dev sites like those in my sig are mapped to folders within the skindustrial file tree.

So like

stender.co.uk -> \home\stender
stenderman.co.uk -> \home\stender\stenderman.co.uk
stendanddeliver.co.uk -> \home\stender\stendanddeliver.co.uk
stendingorder.co.uk -> \home\stender\stendingorder.co.uk

The end user can't tell the difference.

I do it this way because it allows me one ftp access for all the sites, 1 dreamweaver project window and easier management.

Indeed, nicely put Skinner ;-)

Technically speaking, the term for it is "addon domains", so that every addon domain you create in cpanel, automatically creates a new folder within your "public_html" for that websites files, and maps that domain name to the new folder.

Its fairly straight forward, and like Skinner says, it sure does make for easier management of multiple websites if nobody else needs cpanel access to those sites, , thus eliminating the need and hassle of a reseller account and farting around with WHM to create packages and feature lists just to add 1 hosting account.

Cheers Skinner. Problem is you don't get stats etc do you? I find whm nice and easy.

You should get stats for Addon Domains, for redirects you don't but for Add On domains you do, they exist as a sub domain.

The only issue I sometimes get is parking domains ontop of the addon domains.

I use a couple of UK-based hosts, tsohost and pcsmarthosting

Been with both for over 12 months now, with very little downtime. Not had to use tso support much as I only have one site on there, but everything I've had to ask of pcsmart has been answered quickly and to my satisfaction.

I think both fall within your ~£100 bracket for what you want.

thanks dw. do you have a domain for pcsmart that i can have a look at for speed? they appear vv cheap.

p.s. anyone know is the "xxx domains hosted on this server" section on whoisc accurate?
