Bitcoins?

56 and when Gox opens up again tomorrow and people can sell up I fear it will only get worse

still dropping
I'd pay around that just to have 1 to buy some alt currencies for a play
if anyone wants to sell 1 let me know

caveat: if it drops to 25 may change mind lol

Its just too vulnerable, up and down like this is insane who in their right mind can take it seriously, all merchants will soon stop accepting them as a form of payment, so glad I got out and I wont be getting back in, will keep watching though it beats eastenders

Needs more stable exchanges. The idea that it will just go away though is the opposite extreme of imagining its value will rise endlessly.

I would like to take a small punt. (long term)

I have a few questions.....

The rate for one coin on mt.gox is currently $110
the rate on bitcoin 24 is currently 48 Euro

the exchange rate on xe.com is
110.00 USD = 83.9388 EUR

thats a huge difference in buying price between sites. how come?

If i buy on bitcoin 24 am i stuck on this exchange? or am I free to sell anywhere that trades? could i also sell on ebay?

I cant find the answers on either site.

Short answers:

Don't bother looking at the price on Mt. Gox - it's miles behind. It should be back to normal by tomorrow morning though.

When you buy them at an exchange you can simply withdraw them to your wallet on your computer and then send them to whatever exchange you want (if you want to sell for example).

Selling on eBay is fine as long as you're not stupid enough to accept Paypal and so on since the buyer will more them likely make a claim and get to keep the bitcoins obviously.

Lastly, spend some time looking in to it before buying anything.

In my opinion tomorrow is the make or break day for bitcoin, it'll either go to around $20 or up to around $150. Who knows though.

Thanks,
How do i get a wallet?

I have made an account on bitcoin 24, no mention of a wallet.

you need to spend longer researching scoot by the sound

there is huge queues at mtgox you could wait days to get account, longer to get cash in
it is almost impossible on any site to get cash in by normal methods

realtime prices better at btc-e.com and bitstamp.net

mtgox was hacked and had ddos and changing servers

i know all this and have zero coins
so immerse yourself for a while

loads of con artists on ebay so forget, more buyer beware than seller
likely to be 0.00001 bitcoin selling for 100 quid in small print

price been around $65 for hours now

mygox ignore for some time, is well out

hope this helps

bitcoin.org

is original site
download wallet for windows etc

i advise joining bitcointalk.org and ask lots of questions and READ
same advise we give to domain noobs

as I have been saying for a while
THIS is perfect place for people to trade if they wish to buy and sell as we all have tr ratings, know each other and trust the regulars

maybe people will actually sell some when crashes more

i only want to buy half or one to have a play with
not risking more than $50 odd

rather back the geegees
I win more lol
higher odds on payout and more chance of winning, and skill
plus i can deposit in seconds on betfaiur with that old thing known as cash lol

I can see why it is like a red rag to a bull for hackers

bitcoinn 24 even state:
How safe is Bitcoin-24.com?
That question is not easy to answer BUT we did everything we could to make the service as secure as possible. We have tried a lot of methods to hack into the server or into the database. Security is very important. We secure all payments you make and encrypt your password with a BOMB into the database

All very shady. A bit like giving your c/card details to 123-reg :p

mtgox.com seems to set the standard for price (main exchange) price is 120$ now as the market has been suspended, opening at around 3 AM GMT+1.

When mtgox reopens this will be the price across the board.

If you want to buy BTC in the UK with BACS / FPS, bitbargain.co.uk is good but will pay a small premium.

Darren.

I think they will have found that money launderers moved in over the last week. The EU then wanders in and uses it as an excuse to shut it down, rightly or wrongly. That is my best as to the reason behind the shut down of that Polish bank account.

Excellent way for drug dealers etc to wash their cash, maybe had something to do with the bubble.

It wasn't just that which caused trouble at bitcoin 24.

People were easily able to double their money within minutes if you knew what you were doing since there was a bug in the system.

Believe it or not someone posted this bug on YouTube 10 days ago but nobody really noticed. Hard to believe really.

The person on YouTube made a 4800% profit in 2 days, and I'm sure he could've done more if he wanted to.

It's on the rise today anyway.
