Adult Posts

finding a thread on Acorn with a naughty word in the title is the least of their parents concern...

I agree with this 100%. By simply searching for a torrent they are going to be exposed to far more graphic material than you will ever find on here.

Anyone who thinks "hot mums" is offensive needs to get out more :)

Names that describe illegal acts I agree with, not because I am offended, as to let stuff like that offend you is ridiculous, but because they are cr*p and useless domains.

Normal adult names that don't describe illegal acts are fine in my opinion, if its legal then if you are offended hard luck, too many politically correct blinkered do-gooders in this country.

Just standing up and being counted.:D

I am not offended by adult domains, they don't shock or surprise me, as until recently I was a teenager I am all too aware of the shit the internet is full of. I am just against the porn industry due to quite a few reasons.

However, I am not here to preach, nor am I against people using these domains. I just think that those posts should be where they belong - in an area for those who deal in that kind of site / domain.

Perhaps an opt out/in at registration that could be further controlled by the UCP would make sense?

Or alternatively have the forum section visible, but the content within it hidden - with the sub header stating 'join the group to view posts within this section'

Oh and I am 100% anything promoting illegal acts (rape, pedophillia etc) unless they are for educational reasons.

Poor sad deluded fellow. We should maybe take a straw poll amongst your family, work colleagues and neighbours.

Let's see if they agree with you.

My concern was there are posts everywhere and it's not on. And with attitudes like that no wonder.

My main concern were adult domains mixed in with others. One of which was illegal so IMO not good news for any public forum which has memberships starting at 13.

I just took a straw poll with my family, work colleagues and neighbours and they unanimously decided that the names BabesTV.co.uk and FetishDirect.co.uk offended them. I wonder who they are owned by? ;-)

Mate, I'm not trying to cause offense but what are you chatting about?

Hahahaha. that reminds me of the muslim shopkeeper I used to live next to. I went one sunday afternoon for some bacon, he said "we don't sell that, I'm muslim you know!"

When I asked why he sells every brand of alcohol he said "well, you know, we'd lose far too much money if we stopped that..."

So Caz, where do we draw the line? Fetishes okay, but not if they're hot mum related? :D

Not really seeing as one came from a batch of 60 domains I bought from someone on the forum and the other was a catch which was booked when i first started where the buyer changed their mind.

Ty for pointing them out though and you can say Ty to the person who pointed them out to you also.

IMO: Since this thread is going no where I'm going to object to offensive sentence errors. Where did you went? what is wenting a sunday afternoon?

Posting a pic of a dick

Even if Caz owned nothing but adult domains that really has little to do with her argument. Caz said she wasn't offended by adult names but wanted to see them in tge correct section.

I agree with Grant about tge visibilty issues though, an open forum
with a starring of the title would be good.

Cannot see the problem myself. After all if kids are allowed unbridled internet access anyway, the most depraved sites are just a click away on the wild wild west of the internet. All that needs to be done is to keep Adult in an adult section and that will be enough. What is the point of keeping Adult domains locked down, when far worse sites with images, are just a click away.

I can't see the problem either and anyone who thinks that Acorn is the concern when releasing teenagers on the internet needs to turn their Google safe mode off for a minute and get a reality fix.

I wasn't going to post in this thread, but I feel I have to now based on the way Caz seems to be getting unfairly treated and what she has said has been taken totally out of context.

I think the name Caz was referring to originally was beastiality.co.uk, which was posted in amongst a bunch of other names by Dale (possibly overlooked maybe)

When I saw this name posted, I have to be honest I also thought similar thoughts to Caz. I have 3 daughters with the eldest being 12 and she sometimes sits next to me taking an interest in what I am doing (trading domains etc)

Not everyone would know what beastiality means (I seriously imagine no one who is 12 would know) so therefore may possibly go off and look in Google to see what it actually means - I have done this on a few names myself when I have seen them listed for sale, with a view to purchasing them - blepharoplasty.org.uk was one example where I done this.

Do I want my daughter to possibly take more of an interest in what I am doing for a living ? Yes I do

Do I want my daughter Googling words like beastiality to find out if the domain is a worthwhile purchase or not ? HELL NO !

To look at Caz's names she owns and say she is a hypocrite for owning these, is showing that people do not see what her point is.

To give you an example which you might understand - If Caz owned a Ferrari and drove it legally, she still has every right to critisise anyone else who owns a Ferrari who drives it illegally - the Ferrari isn't the problem, the same as owning adult domains isn't the problem in this thread.

I am no saint and I own a few adult names myself, but nothing which describes an illegal act - I am sure if someone posted childporn.co.uk or howtorapesomeone.co.uk for sale on here, the same people who are criticising Caz for what she has said in this post would be saying how disqusted they are and that person should be banned.

I am not sure why people have a problem with Caz tbh ? this is the 21st century and just because she is a female, it shouldn't make her views any different to anyone else on this forum regardless of gender or anything else.

I find your post offensive as it is patronising

and insinuates sexism

I didn't even know she was female when I made my post.

I think that some people have the ability to see something they might find distastfull and just ingore it and move on, where others feel the need to try to sensor everything they find distasteful with the misguided belief that they are doing everyone a favour.

To threaten to report people who post adult names for sale that a person personaly finds offensive is oversensitive and ridiculous, they are just words, made up of letters in the Alphabet, get over yourselves.
