I mean.. there obviously a bias as most people here are invested in these things but at the start of the year I enquired about the .co.uk/.uk market here.
I opted to stay well away and 6 months on I am extremely happy with that decision.
Respectfully, there isn’t a market for any UK extension. If you are buying for business, you build the value.
I think the volume of ‘portfolio sales’ containing hundreds of terrible domains is testament to this fact.
As regards Manchester.uk, I wouldn’t bid on it simply because there’s so many additional hurdles to jump over in terms of building a business which you can avoid by using a more prominent namespace.
