Well, at least England are guaranteed to go at least as far as Spain in the tournament now.. probably would of taken that before the world cup :p

Ha ha too true...

I am not a betting man - but did you see the 14/1 odds at half time on a 3-2 to Holland... that would have been a nice return for a tenner out..

Been disappointed with Spain - they played worse than England as they had no ideas, no commitment and no structure - all the things England normally display to be fair...

Yes :D, Spain have now overtaken England as the best team on paper, shitest team on grass.

Having a couple of HT/FT bets on this one, I think there will be a good few goals in this match as well:

£10 England/Uruguay @ 28/1
£10 Uruguay/England @ 22/1

Am I the only one who detests football and hope we lose so its all over, on the plus side its a nice time to go shopping!

Once again they make a mistake and get punished for it, it's proper head banging stuff watching England play. I honestly thought they were going to score again soon, as they were attacking strongly for a good period, and a goal was coming, and then the fatal error happened

yes seemed to be a different team than the one that turned up against Italy. Was no drive or urgency tonight.

Yeah, until we scored, then we were on it... for all of 10 minutes! Out attempts on goal were just pathetic most of the time. Thing is, without Suarez....

Not the only one, can't stand it. Quite frankly, money has ruined the game; I simply cannot tolerate the amount these footballers get paid with the examples they set; the constant acceptance of diving as if it isn't cheating; the spitting and swearing; and the illogical nature of some of the rules which discourage from changes being made to eradicate such failings.

Was watching the local kids (6-8 years old) playing football the other day and they were rolling all over the place, faking injuries, and generally carrying on like the professionals; it made me sad!

Rooney scored but he should have scored before that

Like he should of scored against Italy

Suarez took his chances with two great finishes, that is the difference.

In a way I'm glad the suffering of watching England fumble is over and now I can just enjoy watching the rest of the tournament

I know technically England aren't out yet but still.

Oh we're out lol... Suarez is a different class to any of ours, even got the VIP stretcher off the pitch when he'd done the job.

Did England overlook the fact that in the world cup finals you play against the best strikers in the World.
Just a simple oversight perhaps.

Poor performance. 50% fit Suarez is still better than our forwards.

Uruguay are a very poor side too. Their defence is terrible and we didn't really pose a threat. Had a good 10 minute spell after scoring but no end product, no killer instinct. We just bumble around, never look comfortable with the ball, take too many touches and then make basics errors to fall behind.

No real positives IMO, we played some attacking stuff this tournament and worked hard, but they are the minimum really so throwing praise out for that is a joke. Italy and Uruguay aren't great teams and we're sat on 0 points :D

If Uruguay make it out the group and run into someone like Germany then they'll get 4 put past them.

Gutted, dissapointed but not surprised about England, Italy performance wasn't bad and could of gone either way i think. I'm here trying to work out where things are going wrong, i notice from Twitter Chris Waddle's rant is quite popular https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdnI4xPMKRY.

Does my head in really, teams that do well in World Cup's often have players that will barely make a low table prem league squad.

The weight of expectation always hangs heavy, and England performances seldom impress me. It'll never happen, but perhaps just once the UK Press will avoid beefing them up, and we'll get to see some decent football without the pressure.

I think you've hit the nail on the head there.

England's squad might as well be picked by sponsors. It's full of "big name" players and soon-to-be "big name" players. It isn't a genuine team and hasn't been for years.

Take Bryan Ruiz, a Fulham player who couldn't even make their squad in a season in which they were relegated. If he was English, would he have been picked to play for England? Not in a million years. Joel Campbell, not good enough for Arsenal. And yet build a real team around those two and the best that a small nation like Costa Rica can produce, and against the odds you beat Uruguay and Italy. Field a "team" of so-called stars and you don't beat either.

At least we didn't go out on penalties. That would have been embarrassing! Oh, wait...
