Pointless betting on the World Cup though, the odds just aren't there. I mean England to win are like 28/1. Shocking price. Only thing worth doing is opening new accounts and taking sign up bonuses if you don't have an a/c already. Some half decent offers to get new punters.

Wonder how much putting on the World Cup has cost Brazil? Looks like there is quite a lot of anti world cup support out there. I'm not surprised though, look at the London Olympics, huge expense and there is zero Olympic legacy unfortunately.

Most disappointing aspect of the World Cup for me is pretty much every player plays in Europe and you see half of them play every week. No real surprises to come out of it.

Imagine watching 40 years ago where every Brazilian player played in Brazil. You'd have never seen any of them kick a ball before then they come on TV and school everyone.

I wasn't specifically referring to the 1974 World Cup but I have no idea who had a good tournament. First major tournament I remember watching was Euro 96
