Working alone and loneliness

I know what you mean, I work from home and have hot used to it but sometimes I wander if it's effecting my social skills, I always try and see my mates in the evening, and love going down the pub at weekends to socialise and get merry

Another little pointer, I try to work to but, not always successful.

If your about to undertake some stressful task/s or a time consuming totally boring bit of work. Allocate a certain amount of time - So rather then seeing the end of the task as the objective - see the time allocated being used as the fruitful outcome. That way the end point is always insight and you will feel good about the commitment. If the task isn't completed in the time allocated do the same time allocation again another day.

I spent many years in senior management before going it alone, that job was even more lonely I found. Everyone above and below me came to me with there issues but there was no-one for me to go to. That said I am a bottler and tend not to flag up when I need help.

Now I just think about the politics, back stabbing and bitchy comments that were in the office that I worked. This really makes me appreciate the solo aspect of working alone.

It helps me to have a trip to my storage units a couple of times a day for a breath of fresh air, visiting clients is also a refreshing change and nice social event for me.

If you are a "life of the party" type (which I am not) it must be much worse to be working alone.

It's difficult in some way's

I'm still relatively young not too many reliable mates majority of them drive me up the wall.

Much of an night owl as well but that's when i'm more productive oddly enough.

Just focus on targets and goals and the rest wouldn't really matter.
