I just entered the competition which looks legitimate - coverage in the national papers today. Though they could increase the appearance of legitimacy by naming their solicitors, and in the interests of transparency a counter of number of tickets sold might be worth considering (though I can see they might want to start that after the launch).

The terms are a no-lose situation for the promoters, assuming they get enough entries to cover their costs.

I've entered - I now have an incentive to promote it so the draw happens i/ quickly and ii/for the property and not the cash which will be less.

They don't have a very short or memorable domain name; and they do have a budget; and they also only need the name for a short time - looks like a short term domain leasing opportunity for someone there.

I know the article is a bit old but can't see things changing legally, my parents entered one years ago and never seen any refunds

And this whole going to Manchester for a funeral thing ( convenient )

NB* according to money saving expert ( Feb 2009 ) the GC said it is legal and then changed their minds but the first decision is legally binding so could be good :wink:

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick line to thank you all for your lovely messages of support, and to tell you that the draw has now been arranged for Tuesday 19th May.
For those of you have lost/misplaced your entry numbers, don't worry.
If you are the winner, you will not need to produce your number, just identification that you are the entrant named on the entry, which is logged in the Wowi (website company) database.
As per the Terms and Conditions, once the winning number has been drawn, having identified the entrant by the information they provided when they entered, we will try to contact the winner first by phone, then by email and post. We have a month to complete this before an alternative winner is selected.
We appreciate that you will all be waiting anxiously for the winning number to be published, so we will try to get it on the Myspace pages and the Website as soon as it is possible to do so after the event.
