My personal view is that AcornDomains isn't an appropriate place to discuss these kind of issues. However as you've brought it up, I'll give you my view. :

It probably isn't the place for discussion in this detail and I think some of the comments you've made in constructing an argument would be very hurtful to the girl's family unnecessarily and would be best deleted.

Personally I love these kinds of discussions.

I think Pred and Invincible have both made good arguments and that's exactly what the Net is about: open discussion and exploring other people's points of view.

As soon as you start saying, "you should delete that comment because xyz will be offended" (hat tip to Binny) for me you're trying to stifle genuine debate.

It's such a poor argument anyway as potentially anyone can be offended by anything. I, for example, come out in rashes when people mention turnips.

Perhaps it wasn't his fault? If I run out in front of car, for example, and get knocked over and die is it the driver's fault (regardless of his ethnicity, or whether he/she was driving whilst desqualified)?

Not really relevant to the situation.

Relevant in 2 ways,

1) He entered the country illegally so shouldn't be here in the first place.
2) He was a banned driver so should have been driving fullstop.

The tabloids are just trying to create sensational headlines to sell papers. They are leaving out the fact that the guy seemingly wasn't at fault for the crash (otherwise he'd surely have been charged with that, rather than just leaving the scene etc).

But with that said, the guy is clearly not respecting the law here (multiple offenses for the same thing etc). I'd just boot him out, send him back to wherever he came from. If he says its too dangerous to go there, thats unfortunate - he shouldn't have repeatedly broke the laws once he came here. If he is adamant its too unsafe, we could house him in a prison until he feels the situation there is suitably calm enough for him to return. Whether that is 1 month or 50 years, I'm not fussed.

And arguing about who is right and who is wrong on a public forum, does nothing but waste time and make people angry.

You could be developing those names that we all stockpile, instead of procrastinating by talking about something that no one can change.
