I hope people will have a look and then perhaps visit LowPrices.co.uk

Can I say some constructive criticism

The site look terrible, unique content is none existent, I think you should work on the site before attempting to market it

Yes I accept this criticism and I am working on it, but I'm also marketing it right now too. There is a lot of work to be done and it's just me doing it, so I will just market it and improve it as quickly as is feasible.

You could improve the look of it in the next 10 minutes. Pop to themeforest or somewhere else that sells themes and buy one, They are cheap enough and will instantly make the site look better.

Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate there is a design issue to be addressed. However, the first thing I want to do is add pages for major retail categories, e.g. homeware, furniture etc etc and sort the site map out. I think that will give a return more quickly.

Really? Oh man, I doubt you'll follow this advice, but I think the last thing the site needs is more pages of feed content.

Here's text from a random product page:

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=T...Lane.+Book+into+the+Wellington+Lounge+at+the"

You are fighting an uphill battle at ranking this website, let alone converting any visitor that happens to stumble on to it from social media.

My advice would be (if you're determined to make a go of this site), ditch the product pages. Get a good looking Wordpress blog in place and pick out fun/cool/quirky/ daily bargains or whatever.

That would get you infinitely more play on social media, and might stand you a better chance of actually ranking the site - if it hasn't already been hit.

I think with the way the site looks right this second.... you're wasting your time promoting it.

I'm not suggesting a site should be 100% perfect before promoting it, but at some level there is just no point in promoting it as the way it looks is going to seriously hinder you.

imo its madness to promote that site in its current stage.... spend £50 and a few hours sorting out a template for it then get back to promoting it. I can't see anyone linking to it or tweeting it or whatever right now can you?

Got to agree, also very hard to navigate

Chris is a nice guy, with good intent. For some reason he will not accept the majority view that his site looks shocking and needs a total makeover.

Chris, you've been told the same thing on here over and over again.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the feedback, I do appreciate it. Just because you don't see quick changes to the site don't think I'm not taking comments on board, because I am, it's just that I work on a lot of different projects at any given time.

That could be where your going wrong...Diluting your efforts into lots of projects rather than dedicating your time in getting one project up and running...

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but the website looks awful. A domain like this needs a simple, uncluttered interface that is aesthetically pleasing, has some fairy dust sprinkled here and there, and finally a blazingly fast search that isn't constrained to searching by category but is clever enough to work out from the keywords entered what the user is looking for, and shows clear, uncluttered results in a fancy grid. Another feature to think about is daily recommendations via email based on favourited keywords.

With all of that then you might, just might stand a chance of it doing well..

I hope that didn't sound harsh, I know you're a nice guy so please don't take any personal offence.

Yes, that is a fair comment. A lack of focus isn't ideal and I am trying to focus a bit more. I am taking a bit of time to call which areas to focus on but I'm happy enough for now.

This has been discussed at length on many occasions....

It's all good by me, I'm always happy to be discussing my sites, although I will point out that I was talking about Instagram, and others chose to give feedback on my site.

I have to say actually your blog is pretty good :D

I think you should make a new site just with your reviews of bad frozen microwave meals

I like how you give everything 10/10 lol

That is the problem, they all look the same, shite. There are loads of posts on this forum offering suggestions and you haven't acted once on anybody's advice.

Well, I will try a bit harder, but like I say, I've been doing other things as well. At the moment I am experimenting with social media.

Thanks! At last someone on Acorn has paid me a compliment lol!!

I have been considering starting a standalone food blog but at the moment I'm just posting stuff to the LowPrices.co.uk blog.

Nice blog, a lot about the actual food in ready meals rather than their low prices.

From the blog: "I was impressed with the taste, and it is better than most if not all of the Italian meatball dishes I have had in restaurants". Must be some awful Italian restaurants..
