1. Write a book based on your experiences of online marketing.
2. Become a philanthropist; start off by donating discountvouchers.co.uk to me.
3. Pick 3 members from Acorn Domains and start a daytime TV programme called 'Loose Men'.
4. If all else fails, grow a second head. I've already done it and now I'm growing a third one.

Run a .uk service to rival (shouldn't be hard) sedo and do it much much better.

ha ha

Doodlebug - I have nice legs:)

Mally - www.domesticviolence.co.uk, I'll bash up the missus and the kids and video it for you

golddiggerguy - trying to hide nowadays, can't keep insulting people all my life

brum - ping me

JohnnyCash - Focus on getting the fit head to have a prettier face attached:)

Why not set up an Online Bank and a lending arm to fund online projects & related activities only, people come to you with a business plan or an invoice say for a new website or domain purchase for there company from a web development company or domain broker e.t.c and you lend them the money. Get all UK business online!

EDIT: I know a few solicitors that can help you with obtaining the relevant licenses with FSA e.t.c

Always thought that if you had time and money you could run some sort of Net-Factor online where bands/solo artists submit video and/or audio files competing for an oline vote. Make the prize some sort of deal to get something recorded and a cool artist's website with download & merchandise store etc... maybe with a tie in from someone from the smaller end of the music management biz, possibly convince some small festival to let 3 or 4 finalists perform and get their live performances on as part of the final vote.

Milk the competition part from whatever angle possible, take full advantage of any virals that may come out of it and then try to make the relationship with the winner as prosperous as possible. Of course there would be charitable opportunities along the way.

Would be a complete gamble but who knows..................

Alternatively for music acts read budding film directors or animators.

Become a cannabis activist and develop legalisecannabis.co.uk and .com for me, cos I have no idea which direction to take it ;)

Looks like you want us to come up with all the ideas ;)

I (as have many) have got plenty of those ideas and none of them would involve the internet - like spending quality time with family, helping my mates out whether it's painting a room or finding a new pub ;), open the world's only "Guinness and Whisky" bar, be an eco warrior blah blah blah.

Go to the pub get pissed and see what ideas flow - but go with people that know you best... as they will be a lot more honest about your strengths and weaknesses than you ever will be - it's the only way to do this sort of research (and they won't mind you swearing a lot)

Good luck in finding something - this is really a completely unique business model in lots of ways... so don't think you can find a replacement as such.

turn getfit.co.uk into a national campaign to get kids off their xbox's and onto the footie pitch etc and become a nation of healthy kids!

Evening all

Gradually moving myself away from the business......but what do I do next?Huh? Suggestions welcome, but must conform to this:

Interesting
Different
Something that can change the norm
Disruptive
Feels good

Profit is not the goal
Happy to loose money to do it
Have cash, resources and staff on hand to make it happen

Any help?

Doug

Design and build a folly then set up a site to market follies world wide fits all the all the above :)

I've been racking my brains for years but mine needs to make money!

Have a look at springwise.com you get some novel business ideas on there.

yeah thats true but tbh i'd give it away if it was to be used for something like that...

I admire the altruistic nature of a lot of members of this forum, I've seen it many times over the years (I know my join date says 2009, but I've been here forever, reborn in 2009 ;) )

Whatever you decide to do Doug, I wish you all the best.

P.S. Can I have carrentals from you? I'll look after it I promise :)

Put all of your domains and companies into a separate entity and start
domaining again......from scratch, using all of your skill and knowledge.

Only use hand reg's and/or spend no more than £100 on any one domain, except if you're trading up. No dropcatching.
Prove that it can be done, here , now, in 2011 starting with nothing.
Prove that not starting in the late 90's is no barrier to success.
Shut all the whingers up who say it's too late/all the best names have gone.
Keep a record of your progress here on Acorn, it will be an inspiration to
all newbies and even experienced domainers. Seeing your progress will spark
people into action.

Surely the ultimate challenge, the opportunity to become a legend !!!
